Season Ticket Renewal Talk

...when ST holder is refunded correctly and new purchaser is paying the normal car A, B, C price.

The club earning money without extracting more from fans...is that a problem?

They could just be honest about it. lol

I'd have no problem with the cost of a ST being closer to that of 19 individual tickets, which is probably something a lot of American owners are looking at.

If that's the reason why then just do away with the extra LPs - I'm on the scheme because I will always take my ticket for any home cup game so now I'm going to have to apply for a lot more games each season - might not seem much but that's a fair bit of inconvenience that I wouldn't have otherwise had, pretty tinkled off about this one actually.

I didn't even know i got extra points for it 😂

It''s just something I'm aware of happening. It's not really a big deal or a widespread phenomenon, but annoying still that some are hoarding LPs while barely going to any games just in case we get to a final or something. Not sure the club even cares, maybe they just wanted rid of it.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying in your second paragraph?

Is the reality that they're taking the profit a ST holder would make on their ticket and redirecting to the club?

The club wants to make more money, fine, but don't pretend it's about fairness. What I'm saying is that I wouldn't have a problem with the cost of a ST being closer to that of the 19 matches bought individually. Every season ticket is money lost for the club is what I'm sure a lot of owner, particularly the American kind, will be thinking. If the market's there to sell out anyway, they might consider reducing the number of STs in the longer term.

But the new policy is actually fairer? Unless you think it is STs that should profit?

So STs nearer to the actual cost of 19 individual tickets would increase there price. How is that fairer?. The discount I assume is for committing upfront for a whole season? Sounds fair?

I think some people think that the seat is theirs/the ticket to the match is theirs when in reality a season ticket is 19 match tickets at a discounted package price. If you can't go to a match your ticket for that match is void - the club then has a seat available to put on sale to members/general sale - at that point it's nothing to do with the ST holder, why would it?

Fairer to who? I don't have a problem with not getting the full price, it's the wording of it that just sounds hollow to me.

The discount is a leftover from a time when ST income was crucial to the running of the club. Until the tv money bubble bursts that's not the case any more. There are other benefits in having a ST than just the reduced price, like not having to queue for buying tickets to big games. I can see a new owner (with little to no previous knowledge of how football works) coming into a club, looking at where more money can be made and seeing ST holders in reality paying less for each game. Again, not a big deal for, just pointing it out.

I believe they have got rid of the auto cup scheme because so many people tried to move seats or put them on exchange for games
This way there is no extra advantage and you get the choice

Didn't they say they got rid of it as a layer because it removes a faffing around period when time to sell tickets to STs and Members is quite short around cup games?

They did but I don't see how that is true - why does having x amount of tickets automatically allocated to ST holders shorten the windows for those who want to apply?
