Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Half were foreigners? In Glasgow? Jesus. Thats more than a little worrying.

The worrying thing is there were quite a lot of tourists around Glasgow, japanese/Korean, I really can't understand why anyone would come to Glasgow in the "summer", but in December!
Are they mad!
Most of the Scots were in the pub, busiest I've seen Glasgow City centre in a good while.

My sympathies with those in Germany, horrific stuff.
Strangely I have heard some comments about Intel that attacks were thought to be planned.
As my wife loves Christmas and is having a bad time at work just now we went into the Glasgow "Christmas Market", tatt and bad food would be a better description, to cheer her up a little.
With the said chatter in mind as we walked round I couldn't help but think any attack would be a bit pointless, I would say that 40% - 50% of those attending were Muslim families and/or African immigrants.
Along with a fair amount of office party goers, many having enjoyed some Christmas spirit, I have to say it was a good atmosphere.
Not my thing, but they all seemed to be enjoying it.
We can all get along if left to our own devices, it's the nut bars and all sides we need to learn to deal with better.
Again, sympathies to those in Germany, happens too often there.
Exactly that, nut bars on all sides whipping up hate. Let people who wanna get along get along, you wanna be a cnut about things scream into a pillow or something

Awful tragedy in Germany. Not a time to make political points. More will come out about the nut job who perpetrated this horrific crime over the next few days and it might surprise some of those foaming at the mouth. At times of tragedy, we need strong leaders to help our communities stand together against those who try to divide us.

So there can be no british muslims??

How many generations post immigration have to pass to qualify as british?

I'm second generation immigrant as my mum is Irish.

Second generation Polish/German Jew on my mums side.....Geordie on my dad's hahaha

I find it astonishing the lack of clarity people give on what they believe a foreigner, immigrant, illegal is.....but then again I don't think they really care, its all blind hate at the end of the day

Interestingly looks like his motive may have been anti-Islam. He is apparently an outspoken critic of Islam since fleeing Saudi Arabia in 2006 and regularly posted on social media related to the German government being complicit in the "islamification of Europe"

An advert for always waiting for the facts before jumping (wanting to jump) to conclusions

And I'm only guessing at the motive. The only thing the German authorities have confirmed so far was:
- He's a doctor (psychiatrist)
- He's a Saudi national
- He's been living in Germany since 2006 when he was granted asylum after fleeing Saudi Arabia
- He is an outspoken critic of Islam on social media and has been outspoken against Islam whilst in custody
- He believes the German government are actively complicit in the "islamifocation of Europe"
They haven't stated that these are the motives for the attack.

Will wait till it comes out in the wash
