Remastered brand identity - apparently

Sandman

Jermaine Jenas

This popped up yesterday. Wasn't expecting that but of course the "massive" change of removing only the Club name under the badge ( the shirt was always like that after the first year ) has caused a lot of online trolling.

I'm not really sure why they made such a big deal about it but what seems to have slipped under the radar a bit is the extra logo from the roof of the old West stand that was in the 70's larger badge. This is quite nice.

They have gone on about the font etc. But also they are using the silhouette of the crest in somewhat somewhat unusual ways. I'm not a fan but it's modern graphic design.1000043590.jpg

Lots of conspiracy theories as to why they removed the wording. The most obvious one was to be called London Hotspur but then why would they bring back the THFC logo.

yeah I saw that joke on Facebook. But its a good one.

I quite like the hallmarks but the "White hot" one is weird for me. Never really heard that before? but maybe before my times?

I'm not sure that I have ever been so underwhelmed by a so-called rebrand. I spent my career in marketing and whatever this tweak is, it ain't a rebrand. Why bother to do it? Because a smidge of design activity is far easier than buying players capable of winning games in the PL. Feeling bleak about our prospects at the moment, but then a week is a long time in football and whenever we next stumble to a win, hopefully against Roma, doubtless I'll feel chipper again.

1. Who called it a rebrand? It literally say "remastered brand" about 15 times on the site
2. "Because a smidge of design activity is far easier than buying players capable of winning games in the PL" - are you saying Johan Lange is responsible for the brand?

I think it's a nice update. Really like the monogram and the extra brand elements (Bruce Castle etc.) It'll make some great subtle merch, which is no doubt on its way already. The only thing I don't like is the italicised font, but it'll probably grow on me.

Some say that the reason for our poor luck in winning anything, is because the c0ck is facing the wrong way.
Should have tried that!
