    The Ale & Beer thread

That's a hell of a step from a 40 pint kit in the kitchen! Demijohns are great, but the ones I have are only 5 litres, so I start off with a lidded fermenter bucket and then rack off to Demijohns for another week of fermentation and settling prior to bottling. With all of it, sterilisation...

Bet Corbyn brews his own for his launch party. Phew! Back on politics!

That's much more like the later kits I've done, it's a lot more involved. I'd start with something simpler like: thehomebrewcompany.ie/simply-mild-ale-18kg-p-5760.html as it will produce a reasonable beer for not a lot of money.

I started off with a basic IPA kit. Boil it up and add water and brewing sugar, then the yeast when cool and leave it for a couple of weeks. Then rack off to minimise sediment, then bottle. I already had a fermenter tub and demijohns from making cider, and a measure for specific gravity, but...

I brew my own. Can make a very decent beer for 50-60p a pint, and drink the savings. Lovely!

Do you reckon they lose a percentage of pay if the are on a diet as well? How about the flip of this - Bonuses for additional food eaten? Gives Bargain Bucket a new meaning I suppose?!

Can see the law of unintended consequences applying here. The main issue in hospitals I believe is they are full of people that shouldn't be there: people waiting for a broken care sector, and people who have gone to hospital due to a broken GP system.

The Game Is About Glory Podcast

Good review chaps. Agree with all of it, but I went a bit Steff on Richy. Think I'd give him till Jan to prove fitness under Frank.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

You want to listen to the pod on a Monday. Always puts things into perspective for me after a loss, whether I agree with what the chaps are talking about or not. Normally I do, or it makes me consider things from a different angle. Also, I'm making an assumption if you feel like that at the...

I had an MG SUV as a hire car late last year. Virtually brand new. The pleather interior stank and felt like 70s vinyl and the touch screen (which controlled everything) would randomly go blank for miles. I asked the chap about it when he picked it up and he implied I was lucky it was working...

    Ange departs

I get your point on whether we deserve to be in the CL, but we would at least be champions (albeit EL champions) rather than a team that finishes 4th and are therefore very far away from bring champions.

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

Whilst we like to think of ourselves as the absolute zenith of management opportunities, I'm sure we could all name a number of clubs that others mistakenly see as bigger jobs than us. When we hire the next chap it is likely to be a well performing manager from a 'lower' club as opposed to a...

I think Glasner or Silva should be front runners. More experience, PL experience, have made their teams better than the individuals. I'm expecting a change at the end of the season now, even if the Europa doesn't go our way, which would be better for candidates currently in work.
