I'd say we chose last for two reasons - You need to be able to hold on to the ball and pass it to the attack, otherwise it doesn't matter if your front line is good if they are onstantly starved. - The players we obviously identified, their clubs weren't willing to release early (same thing...

Market is brick, for me, I'd go for Guirassy for the short term, he and Marmoush would carry us fine. Revisit the market (Kroupi?) at end of season

For me, on top of your points, fitness at this level matters (for all the reasons discussed, we aren't there yet) 1. Lucas talent is with the ball, he's not the one to get you the possession. Hard to judge a player who's job is to progress the ball when no one in front of him is moving...

He was there, sitting in front of VDV & Porro

I don't think Solanke starts on any regular basis Kinsky, Udogie, VDV, JVH, Porro, Fernandes, Tonali are all set in stone, first choice 11. Only variations might be Robertson for sides that sit back, Danso when we need more aerial/physical cover. Right now in front of them looks like some mix...

So, too brick for us (according to some fans) but ok for City? Will be an interesting choice for him, he's not a starter for them

    The "DM" thread

Strange decision all round, think he would have been happy to be in a rotational role, ended up going for something like 14M. I thought it was ok when the plan was Gray as backup at 6 (even then, wasn't sure of the using Gray to close out a game), but with hindsight of we obviously knew Spence...

I'd play Danso because I'm sure against that level opposition there will be a lot of pump it into the box brick. I'd play LWB because so far he's stepped up against opposition. Reality will probably be Tonali/Bentancur/Gallagher to start, with subs

The other thing that is vitally important is we start putting together home wins (regardless of competition). Win at home, the crowd gets better, lifts the team, good circle, lose and we know what happens ..

Us, Liverpool, United, even City all looked undercooked, I suspect even the Scum would have had issues if they had anything but cannon fodder first up. We are paying the sins of the past, too many injuries carried over, too many players turned over, plus commercial obligations that meant too...

    Savinho

We will play him on the right until Kudus is back. And even with just Savinho and Marmoush added, Tel will get more space (which will help him) Add Udogie LB, actual pivot of Fernandes & Tonali, it's a vastly different side

Genuinely I think he knew it was going to be a tough night regardless. Was it worse than it should have been? yes, but we are undercooked and unbalanced, we made that choice due to protecting players coming back and fact that City has dragged us on with the transfers.

    ***Tottenham v Brentford OMT***

Out of total squad - Maddison, Kudus, Deki, Xavi, Odobert, Solanke, VDV, Udogie, all either injured or returning from injury (8 players), this btw is what has killed us in last two seasons, walking into a season already light because of existing injuries - Bentancur, Danso, Porro, Senesi, JPVH...

Actually don't think it was a one player problem, it was you can't play Bergvall, Gray, Moore and Richi against a team that works that hard, is that direct and physical. Add in us being undercooked fitness wise, it was a mistake. Right side was terrible, and yet Moore had two 1:1's with keeper...
