    The first rule of being a bully is that you only attack those you know to be weak; you don't go after someone you think might be able to defend themselves and risk being publicly shown up. The "rules" football clubs are meant to adhere to are no doubt written accordingly.

    He had that purple patch at the end of the season before we bought him, when his goals basically kept Everton up, but outside of that ... Seems a likeable guy, but I always doubted his quality and I nearly spat my tea when I saw what we paid for him. He's never been a finisher.

    It looks like there's a stark choice to be made: either cash in to the highest bidder over the coming weeks to reinvest, or wrap him in cotton wool, keep him fresh and injury-free and use him as a super-sub. On balance, unless he actually wants to leave, I'd opt for #2.
