RVP is a world class striker who in his time at Arsenal has won one FA Cup winners medal, he is 28 coming up 29 and knows deep down he has one last move, one last payday in him, and oe last chance to move to a club where he will win trophies, so many clubs would want him but you cant go too far from Emirates Marketing Project, they will offer him ?ú250k a week no doubt
Yes that, and there is also the fact that the club refuses to sell him at this stage. It is fairly logical as well, he has a contract until the summer of 2013. By then he's one month short of 30 years old.
While he is world class, what is he really worth now? And what will he be worth then? Out of pure talent, 40 mill right now I bet. But with 1 year left and age on top of that bids will be half of that. And 20 mill is not worth losing your best player by far for Arsenal. So they'll be happier to let him sit the contract out, find that he quite likely won't get that big move to a giant like Real or whatever, and rather re-sign with them after all.
Wenger is slowly but surely destroying everything he built over there. Unbelievable, and the hierarchy above him dont dare oppose him
loving it

If Van Persie was on a free then he would absolutely get a big move to a giant like Real Madrid. In a year's time there would be several clubs queueing up to give him close to ?ú200 grand a week on a free transfer I reckon.Yes that, and there is also the fact that the club refuses to sell him at this stage. Cheeky bid?Sensible decision is to accept the 20m than let him leave on a free. Seems a bit of a no brainier to me. If he stayed what's the best they could hope for? 4th? Why not take the 20 and get in another striker and they'd still be there or thereabouts.

Cheeky bid?
Always loads of empty seats due to this. The thing that makes me laugh is thet they base the attendance figures on seats sold not bodies through the door.
