Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Debunked by a dark money funded think tank affiliate would not be something I would take as wrote. I don't know how accurate the 100bil figure is but it lines up the obr and bank of england estimates.

I've seen various articles over the years explaining why they think the figures are incorrect, I'll share when I next come across some. But regardless of the think tank doesn't mean the figures used aren't correct, as you can see all sources are named.

UK growth is actually ahead of the larger EU countries. Part of that growth is down to technology investment some of which would move away were we to rejoin.

This particular think tank gave the UK trussonomics, and I know ad hominem attacks on it are a pretty lazy argument; still I wouldn't put much credence in what they say. The OBR and Bank of England, however they measure the GDP drag, would be considered more trusted sources I would assume. In saying that, I think GDP is a tinkle poor measurement, and certainly not fit for the purpose of measuring the well-being of a country. That is really what drives opinion more than some economic headline figure, IMO.

The Americans also interfered but thankfully not to a point where it had any impact on the result either: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36115138

There has been a noticeable increase on twitter of US based accounts spreading lies about the UK, laying it on to cause added unrest RE boats etc. The newish function of seeing where people are posting from is abit of a godsend in that respect

Itv got an undercover reporter into Reform HQ for a few months, doc dropping on Sunday night apparently.

It's a terrible measure, I'm surprised no one has come up or even suggested measuring different things.

Moving things away from London is no bad thing - and, indeed, is part of Burnham's stated policy intentions.

They're moving away because they dont think its viable, not because of policies to actively improve social mobility. We do need to balance out different areas but London still needs plenty of new housing.

Yes terrible. I have seen plenty of very good suggestions over the years, but none have been widely adopted. Kate Raworth's 'donut' is one that comes to mind that had a bit of traction (good book too). I'm sure I was reading a while back about some countries that have gone a different way, maybe still publishing GDP but also using a selection of more relevant metrics. I'll search for that.

'...probable criminal activity...'

'Probable' potentially doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
