***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Everton, Sun May 24th, 4.00pm, The Lane***

I'm optimistic to a fault and I'm going to enjoy it. It's not often we have something to play for on the last day! Even if this time we'd rather not have it...

The last time we had something on the line in the last match was 2023 Sheffield United away to finish 5th, before that 2022 Norwich away to beat the Gooners to 4th, 2016 Saudi Sportswashing Machine away, 2013 home to Sunderland where it wasn't in our hands and before that 2006 away to West Ham (lasagna).

Overall we have a pretty decent record: https://thfcdb.com/matches?page=1&a...te_desc&selectedView=list&roundLeg=__active__

Thanks for the stats. The only thing I know is I won't be enjoying it until hopefully the final whistle at best :D...

They spent about half a bn more than us in that time I think and had players like Saka and Martinelli come through the ranks and establish themselves, whilst nailing a few signings like Rice, Odegaard.

We’ve not had anyone come through the ranks and not really nailed a signing, whilst going through a funny old collection of managers in that time. Hopefully if we stay up we can stick and back this manager as he seems to me to be worthy of it (some of his predecessors clearly weren’t).

Really is shocking how badly we’ve blown the new stadium windfall on absolute dross over the past decade, rather than a few select items of fine furniture which Pochettino requested 💸

Come what may the badge on the shirt and the name above the door remain the same, survival or relegation this is my one and only club and I will love you regardless.

However tomorrow goes - COYS

Amen to that brother 👍 Unlike most on here i was at the game when we were relagated back in 77 and we were soon back up. IF it happens again i am sure we will rise back again.

@Kenyan Spur : I see you are on the board : are you still doing your fantastic-sounding match-day BBQs washed down with Tusker beer?
If you are, it would be great to know what you have in store for tomorrow.
Reading what you had planned always felt like a bit of a match thread ritual.

It all started going to brick when he stopped posting...

How we could do with one of our attackers turning into Sonny for 90 minutes tomorrow!

Do you not feel like tomorrow's weather is part of the perfect storm of a season we're in? We finally get a manager who gets us organised on a high press and the football gods give us 30 degree heat to make it impossible to keep that intensity going.

You couldn't make it up right?
I'd posted a little bit back that we had lucked out with evening games v Leeds and Chelsea in case the weather was hot.

It wasn't, but as soon as we are back to an afternoon ko it's bloody 30oC :)
