Igor the Interim

Did we? Not being funny but I remember a Tel effort and we didn't have one other shot on goal until Solanke scored. Once we went ahead, we came apart like a cheap suit. Did we have many other chances?

I will give some credit to the players for keeping the score down second half. I feared 5 or 6.
As I was leaving the ground, I kept thinking that if Tudor hadn't further disrupted things with those subs before half-time and we'd gone into the break at 1-1, we might well have come away with at least the draw. Without the hammer-blow to their confidence levels of goals 2 and 3 going in, who knows?

Our next 3 are Atletico, Liverpool, Atletico. If we ditch Tudor now, whoever comes in is going to get eaten alive.
Or they can prepare for the six pointer vs Forest. I know I'm stating the obvious but Igor has set up teams which have conceded 9 goals in 3 games. Replying with only 2. The least I expected was that he would make us mean at the back and we should have been capable of at least 2 points from the last 3 games. I can't believe the board are allowing this to continue! What an absolute bunch of clams. Igor is way out of his depth. His whole raisond'etre is that he gets results quickly. Well he is not doing that!

I know but he was brought in about 3 months too late or maybe in December we would’ve got someone’s else. Who knows. I did say he was a massive gamble given that he’s new to the league. We’re in emergency mode now anyway.

Interesting fans were critical of TF saying we would definitely lose games" in his first press conference. That might be a reasonable view ( but not one I share). This manager asked if Spurs will stay up he said "100%" or something along those lines. Doesn't look like it the way we have set up over the last 3 games. So shows that what managers say on their press conferences need to be taken with a large pinch of salt!

This is magnificent (though not necessarily true)

This feels like a ghost town already, so much so that by the end even the booing had something empty about it, a sense that it might even be disappointing if Spurs don’t go down now; that everyone in this vast sporting unit, would at least get to feel something, that the pain is at least a story, grand and wild and out there, still football.

That may be so, but he's supposed to be football's equivalent of Red Adair.

That's what I was saying about his lack of knowledge of us. Yeah he probably sat in his hotel room watching a few match videos but he doesn't know the nuances, attributes, characteristics, do's and dont's of the individuals. We haven't got time to let someone work that out.
I agree with you that Igor's 'limitations', at this time and in this context, aren't his fault really.

That said, who could/should they appoint now (or 3 games ago), that is available and would best know those things?

To an extent, it doesn't matter who. It just needs to be someone else. Preferably someone who has a feeling for the club and knows English football. We've tried him; he has had a quarter of the games available to him and has failed in every metric. We need to try something else.

If it was competent people in charge I would expect the silence today to indicate that they are putting Plan B into operation behind the scences. Given who they are, though, they're probably off on a long weekend and will think about making a change once we've lost at home to Forest and are out of the CL.

Possibly the last manager we appointed that had both those credentials was Mason?
And before him, Sherwood...who people hated then and now...especially after he achieved 'some' degree of success here results-wise.
I suspect that for many it really does matter who the person is. Though at this particular time/predicament I agree with you it prolly matters less.

As I said on here earlier today, I cannot stand Sherwood but I’d take him now if he is the only alternative to Igor. The latter is not working. These are desperate times - we have to try something else.

Right

As I posited in the other thread.....

Get on the dog and bone to Ange.
He needs no settling in time....and we either activate Ange ball 1.0 and go out in a blaze of glory or Ange EL vers2 and scrape the points that way.

Season 3 is always better than Season 2!

He can only say 'Nah...fudge off mate'

Just when I thought I couldn’t be any more worried…
