The "If we go down" thread

According to BBC, opta have crunched the numbers for relegation and apparently we have less than a 5% chance of going down. Not totally sure how they work it, presumably a number of simulations with various factors thrown in?, but that figure sounds remarkably low considering where we are in the table and how we've been playing recently. Anyway, it made me feel about 3.4% better about the situation so that's good...

And I’m 80% sure that the simulation is bo llocks 65% of the time.

My brother is a Pool fan

I was explaining to him how poorly we've been playing and that I cannot see us winning again this season and that we will go down

He was bemused and said winning was easy, his advice was "just win"

2 hours later, the bottom side Wolves had beaten his beloved Pool :D

Forest and West Ham getting positive results and a bit of feel good factor/momentum. We don’t have that.

Since Jan 1st teams have the following points:

West Ham 14
Leeds 11
Forest 10
Spurs 4

I only see that worsening as their players look up for it and are talking positively in interviews.

Before tonight I thought we could go down. Now I think we actually will.

Good to see so many of you coming to your senses and getting on the train I boarded ages ago!

I think, at present, relegation is more than 50% certain. If we can somehow beat Palace tomorrow then we probably move that back to a 50-50 coin toss.

It is clear though that the rest of the relegation battlers are in much better form than us as they are better organised than us and working harder than we are.

Our players just don’t seem to have any fight whatsoever. I simply cannot understand it.

We’ve been massively seen off by officials, decisions, luck but still, the players just don’t seem to care. I’ll be glad to see Porro and Richi back because - in fairness - I don’t think this can be directed at them. Maybe the others can follow suit and actually put themselves about a bit.

With every passing week I’m becoming more and more convinced that this thread is named incorrectly.

It's us or Forest, and it'll be tighter than a ducks butt.
Lose to Forest and we're totally fudged.
Beat Forest and we might just stay up.

Tomorrow is monumentally huge.

I'm really worried. I'm clinging to the fact we showed some fight at the end of the Fulham game. Nobody is going to give us an easy ride. I think they would love to see us go down.

We need to win tomorrow. We can't lose. We need something positive. fudge.

West Ham look organized now. Leeds are good at home. Forest picking up. And now wolves are playing well just as it's coming to our game with them.

Everything seems against us. Injuries. Referees. It's all coming together like a big pile of brick.
