You prefer a position of "just following orders"?
I beleive there are rules which are consistent. Not built on some false patriotic bravado like you.

And I live in the real world. One where it will be incredibly difficult to recruit for our armed forces if they know they'll be hung out to dry by politicians who will sell anyone out to solidify their legacy.I beleive there are rules which are consistent. People don't want to retire and then be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives, just for keeping innocent civilians safe from terrorists.
Same response then, but with police. He isn't investigating the armed forces, but bent cops

You're right. But if they're to properly protect us against terrorists (who follow no rules or laws whatsoever) it's a little naive to think they can do so staying entirely clean.Police should not be above the law. Even if it kills your populist erection.

Looking like Israel might win the Eurovision again this year
Clearly it doesn't matter how long I'm here or not here for, I'll be entitled free in that tiny mind of yours the whole time.Entirely clean? You think ambiguous language around law actually exists? Do you actually think that's what the policy should be. Do bad things but not too bad. If you want to know how bad then ask Scara from GG. He's an expert in law. And HR apparently too. You are so out of your depth here. Maybe disappear again?
Absolutely but where are the police getting there info from ex members of the IRA who should be rotting in hell. Ex members of the RUC covering there arses. I wouldn't trust half the information given to some enquiry to make the government look good on northern Ireland. Lucky I am not in charge I would re arrest every convicted IRA member released under the good Friday agreement & put them back in prison never to be released. Will not happen it would upset to many. we have to keep Sinn Fein & the IRA happy so let's investigate the Army & the police. Have people forgotten what the IRA did in both the UK & Northern Ireland they treated there own just as badly. These clams deserve our condemnation not an olive branch & an enquiryPolice should not be above the law. Even if it kills your populist erection.
We all know what happens we just choose to ignore it. There are organisations inside both government & the military that keep us & our children safe & that's all we need to know. You're right. TBF it's think its abit more sophisticated an investigation than taking just someone's word. He doesnt give too much away, naturally, but its also not just a one way investigation, its also about investigating claims from people who were discriminated against because of passport or relation who had no official ties to the IRA.Absolutely but where are the police getting there info from ex members of the IRA who should be rotting in hell. Never said it was an easy job I don't blame the guy investigating I do have sympathy for him. I blame the government for setting it up in the first place. If you are going to investigate the army /police you should also investigate the IRA who murdered innocent people but we won't so it's a pointless enquiry.TBF it's think its abit more sophisticated an investigation than taking just someone's word. I think its best said as a hard job, rather than the cosh I've read thus far, although not shocked TBH

I probably should have left it at absolutely. Anyway I agree but as governments have the power to change the laws it can be manipulated at times.Again the point I was making is that the nobody is above the law.

If one side is given an amnesty then so should the other.
You would think that after decades of killing, maiming, discrimination and a terrible life for all concerned based on long held grudges (justifiable grudges) on how one side was treated differently from another that the lesson would have been learnt.
But oh no, we will set up a system that stores up another set of grudges so we can go through it all again.
Both sides were wrong, leave it like that and move on. It's not great having murderers walk the streets, but it's better than what it was.
