*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Doncaster Rovers - Carabao Cup ***

Baffling to say the least. Gray at CB is the only thing that makes sense. Thought we were done with that, though

I think Frank has said he sees him as an option there. Probably would have started him in midfield and rested one of our older guys. Hopefully we're winning comfortably at HT and can bring on someone like Byfield.

My memory isn't great but did Frank say that Gray was not a full back, hinting he might be considered as a CB (as well as midfield of course).

The other possibility is that Palhinha could play CB and Gray could play CM.

Sarr nowhere to be seen again, perhaps has a small strain or has been identified as 'red zone' after playing so much in the early part of the season.

If players are red zone in september we need to look at training.
Seriously players are made out of paper these days.

..............Kinsky
Porro Palhinha Danso Spence
.....Bentancur Gray
Johnson Xavi Odobert
....................Tel

It is a great chance for Odobert and Tel to show us what they can do, when paired with a top level guy like Xavi, playing against League One opposition. They should be licking their lips to show some talent and make things happen.

Edited to show Danso at LCB, as that is how they are warming up

It never ceases to amaze me, the amount of gobbing players do. They suck in a drink and gob it all out and do it again and again.

2 weeks ago I was watching my son's Under 14s game. The linesman was about 16. He waddled over the pitch, gobbing every 5 strides. Then he took a jar of Vicks Vaporub out of his pocket and inhaled it every minute for the next hour. Footballers are odd.

Apparently Emile Heskey has 2 sons on City's bench tonight!
How do so many ex-players have kids that manage to make it when the chance of becoming a pro is so slim? Is it often just that they are given a bit more time or patience in academies due to who their dad is? or does that experience of having a dad who has played at such a level really pass on such a benefit?

The lineup on the warmup show on the club YouTube shows Paulinha at CB.

Genetics and connections. The margins are so fine at that level that having a dad who is well connected can make a massive difference.

Note Sky's main game tonight is the Goons, but the build up to that and the whole of the League Cup night seems very Tottenham. They had Stephen Kelly on for ages. Then the Spurs singer bloke singing Spurs are on their way to Wembley in front of the Kane mural, now Michael Brown and Jamie Redknapp.

Rather unusual and a nice change, unless I am wrong and the Goons have some other feed/channel.

Agreed; I can imagine some kids get to train every day and play umpteen games per week, whereas many kids train and play far less, so they drift backwards in comparison.
