One of the things I noticed especially when we play the better teams is we are very reliant on passing to feet as opposed to into space. It's all very pass and move based but sometimes we get pressed and have no outlets because we don't have dribblers or players good at keeping the ball under pressure. It's all pass to feet, move and then another pass to feet. There's little individual passing quality.

Liverpool were great at finding players both in space and on the move. We really don't get any of that unless it's a long raking pass from Porro. I also find it interesting how often (we are talking ever single match) we see either FB or both overloaded. Sometimes it's out wide, sometimes it's the width of the penalty box you will always see 2 opposition players free. Usually the wider one has all the freedom of the box to collect the ball. So may goals we concede come from these situations, Pool's first goal being a perfect example. Yet we rarely if ever have the same kind of overload available for us, it does make me ponder why. The inability to stop the situation and an inability to create the same kind of attack are clearly linked and strike me as a system fallacy.
Whilst I agree the first goal was because of a really poor pass
It wasn’t a hard one to make

Conte's PPG is pretty impressive considering the squad he had.

I was gutted it didn't work out with him. He may be high maintenance and a bit of a taco at times but he is a top tier manager.
No Europe helped him first season and he did have peak Kane

He self destructed and while a good manager, I couldn't handle the very obvious overtones of "he was better than us"

Yep and I was sat in my usual seat in the East Upper. Our starting line up.

Vicario
Porro Romero Dragusin Udogie
Kulu Bissouma Maddison
Johnson Solanke Son

Spurs 4 - 1 West Ham

The team and squad we had pre the injuries starting to hit was a 6th or 7th placed finish type PL squad (maybe 5th at very best) and that is roughly where we were likely to be finishing.
Pretty much everybody was beating West Ham when Lopetegui was in charge, which is why they changed their manager. And winning against Everton, West Ham, Utd and City all of whom have either changed their manager or are in some form of crisis, while losing or failing to beat Leicester, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Palace and Ipswich and a horrendous loss to Brighton doesn’t indicate form that is 6th or 7th place finish in my opinion.

We were 6th though weren’t we when we beat city and that was a point when injuries and games really ramped up
And had the chance to go 3rd I think if we turned up vs Ipswich

The old “all Spurs wins have an asterisk”

West Ham are brick
Emirates Marketing Project were in a bad period (twice)
Man Utd are brick
Southampton are brick
Liverpool (H) were were lucky
All those European teams are brick
Aston Villa was Emery’s fault

Etc etc

The season is awful, but many of our wins were actually very good performances. The same people complaining we won those would be absolutely kicking off if we’d lost (see reactions to Forest, Ipswich, Everton etc)

Unfortunately, most of our results were against brick teams it’s not an asterisk thing it’s a fact. Hard to deny that they were brick when most have changed their managers! The notable exceptions being Villa and Liverpool in the cup (that one during the height of our injuries but with a change in tactics). Even the loss against Brighton had the following players VIc Porro, VDV, Romero, Udogie Bentancur Maddison Kulu Johnson Solanke and Werner. Not a great team but surely enough to hold onto a 2 goal lead.

but difficult to extrapolate from that and the teams we had played at that point that it meant a 6th or 7th place finish which is what was claimed.
Well we lost to some poor sides and e at some better sides at that point
Then we lost a huge kart if the squad and okayed every team in top form at their peak
That happens
Maybe if we had got a result in the Ipswich game for example our firm and cifndince may have changed. As it was we were inferior and hit what we deserved

A) it’s not a fact at all
B) who gives a fudge? Just enjoy the good results. No wonder people get so negative if you can’t even enjoy those

It could be fudging sunshine and 30 degrees and you’d complain that it might rain in a few days.

But the discussion was about whether or not before the injuries we were a team likely to finish 6th or 7th? It wasn’t whether or not I’d enjoyed the wins. I still contend that we were
A) winning and losing around the same number of games
B) we were mostly winning against teams in some form of crisis, Villa aside.
I don’t think either of those statements are outlandish.

No Europe helped him first season and he did have peak Kane
he had the europa conference early doors albeit not for very long.

he inherited a demotivated Kane and turned him around and had us paying at a far higher level than i have seen from a postecoglu side.

it’s a shame it wasn’t maintained

I don't know why people keep denying this fact.

He's admitted himself he causes injuries due to the way he plays and trains

good article on the risk he takes on players
This is why I want him gone in the summer, we have very talented young players, let's not fudge their careers before they've really got going. Odebert's already had to have hamstring surgery ffs. It's taken six or seven years of overplaying Saka to get to the same point.

You’re literally complaining about winning games. It’s pathetic mate.

The good results are an outlier
The bad results and the feeling under this manager that we will be second best whoever the opposition is the norm.

The guy is simply out of his depth and the evidence is overwhelming.

Unfortunately it seems we are stuck with him and the cycle of misery until the end of the season at the very least for some peculiar reason.
