Tower Hamlets

I am in London tomorrow one or two things to do and shall be down that way, anyone know or anywhere decent to get a bit of lunch?

I like most things but tend to avoid seafood.

My style is classic Italian, well the clothes and shoes at least.

I shall be there for 3 hours and will be using a taxi there and back from Victoria. I heard it was quite a nice area.

Which part of Tower Hamlets are you going to be in? There are loads of good places to eat in the borough but it is a big area and it would help if you could narrow it down a bit.

Brick lane for an indian is your best bet. Other than that dodge it and head west the place is a toilet.

Canary wharf is probably your best bet, however, try and avoid the hours of 12-2.30 ish as it gets extremely busy

It's pretty awful in some areas, however the Brick Lane area has some cool places to eat, Spitafields market has a few restaurants of note and then you have Shoreditch/Hoxton slightly further in. Some of the pubs in the area do decent food as well.

Some nice Vietnamese places on Shoreditch high st. They are all next to each other at the northern end. Think that technically they might be just on wrong side of tower hamlets border.

canary wharf is in TW, try Goodmans there. Amazing steak.

ever been to The Bridge coffee house/bar up that way? fantastic bar and ended up staying in there all night rather than just the quick one we had planned

Ah, how I remember a summer afternoon getting strippers' autographs in as many pubs as possible from the Strippers Guide to London. The one under the Kingsland Rd bridge was strange, as a number of be-costumed Trekkies came in before heading to Ally Pally.

Memories .....

We did not go in this places and I am not quite sure with your recommendations whether you are serious or not:-k:) Seemed a bit cliché but we went for a curry, was ok.
