This list of hilarity is "our achievements" from their website, which I won't do them the honour of linking...

- Secured £30 ticket price cap for all Premier League away games over the next three seasons as part of a national campaign for cheaper away tickets. Lobbied THFC to drop its initial opposition to this measure

- Ran the Stop StubHub campaign, ultimately resulting in the ticket exchange being taken back in-house by THFC from the 2017-18 season.

- Successfully campaigned to keep Spurs in London for the season away from White Hart Lane during the building of our new stadium, helping to secure Wembley as our temporary home for season 2017-18

- Argued successfully against proposed home ticket price increase of 2% for 2016/17 season, securing a freeze on all Season and match day ticket prices for a third consecutive year

- Secured a rise in the age of concessionary tickets from Under 16 to Under 18 from the 2014-15 season

- Secured the introduction of a Young Adult category of tickets for 18-21 year olds from the 2018-19 season.

- Lobbied for competitive pricing for Champions League matches at Wembley and group package discounts for the 2016/17 season

- Lobbied for and achieved a Premier League rule change moving all away ticket sales onto a sale or return basis

- Provided practical assistance and legal advice to fans arrested and charged in the so-called ‘Y-Word cases’

- Secured support from THFC for safe standing and lobbied MP's for parliamentary debate.

- Assisted the Antwerp Arms Association in obtaining Asset of Community Value status as part of their campaign to save the oldest pub in Tottenham from redevelopment

- Worked with the Club to introduce more flags and banners on match days
 
I disagree with their stance on the Mk Dons situation.

However, in answer to the post question....I would answer 'about as much as they possibly can do'. You need to judge expectation - some clubs around the country are desperate for detailed fan dialogue and will even offer a place on the board. This is never going to the case at THFC so even by THST managing to schedule 3 board to board meetings per year with detailed minutes provided - is a real achievement. They have some real constraints so don't expect the world. In football terms they have the same expectation as say a Crystal Palace or Southampton whereby finisihing mid-table is an achievement. If you're expecting them to effectively win the Champions League by getting us £100 season tickets, free travel to every game and affecting transfers then you're always going to be disappointed by them.

I would say they generally represent us well. I do think they whip up a frenzy a little too often but for a group of volunteers with day jobs and families etc they do an incredibly good and important job.

Whether they had any influence or not, those are all good things, no?
They do get a bit above their station, with certain questions in the meetings with the board, and the MK gonads though.
I don't think we're worse off with them, and they've probably helped people, and provided some information we might otherwise not have known.

They get a bad press a lot of the time, and some of that is of their own making. I also don't always feel they have the right tone and do come across as entitled sometimes.
But they are a conduit of information, do provide feedback to the club, sometimes solicited, sometimes 'volunteered' and as I understand from reading their monthly summaries, they do have a lot of involvement in less publicised areas which impact supporters - Safety Groups, TfL, matchday policing etc.
They are never going to represent all fans, and nor do they claim to. But a number of those items listed in the first post are good for supporters, surely, and they have had a voice in getting those results. (PL rules I believe 'advise' clubs to meet twice yearly with supporters. The lower leagues mandate it.)
I think up until the NWHL ST prices saga they felt they had developed a good relationship with the board and perhaps started to believe they had more influence than was true. If so, they have come back down to earth with a bump. The club will always do what the club wants to do, but dialogue with a fan group is not a bad thing.
 
Yeah, how dare they ask questions of the club and fight the corner of the peasants (supporters). They should just blindly agree with everything the club does. Some fans would back the club if we sold the new ground for a fiver and did a permament ground share with MK Dons and offered no explanation why, "well we don't know the ins and outs etc".

Don't really have a strong opinion about them one way or another really. I think they exist for a good reason but sometimes they do come across a bit high and mighty. At the same time, there are times when us supporters deserve explanations rather than answers as paying customers. I'm not talking about the ground btw as I fully accept these delays happen with stadium builds, it will be ready when it's ready and that's fine with me.
 
Not disputing we need something like that, its just the claims they are making.

I personally don't think they had any influence in convincing Levy and the board that we should stay in London and negotiating with Wembley to make sure we got it, no of coarse not, but their statement is "Successfully campaigned to keep Spurs in London for the season away from White Hart Lane during the building of our new stadium, helping to secure Wembley as our temporary home for season 2017-18"

I'm speculating what probably happened was during one of the board to board meetings someone from THST demanded that Levy keep us in London and suggested Wembley.
I am also speculating that Levy did not responded with "wow guys why didn't I think of that, lets make it happen" but was already working to secure a London venue with the FA and Wembley

I don't think anyone would expect they can get us any of those things you mentioned. It's the carry on that drives me mad, ie the list of things in the original post.
 
Well, I'm pretty sure they actively campaigned against playing the away season(s) at MK Dons, partly because of their position on the existence of MK Dons and partly because fans wanted to stay in London. They did campaign and the end result was what they campaigned for.

It's another question whether the campaign materially affected the club's decision. It was considered as an option. I assume this was mainly as a fall-back position if Wembley proved impossible or too expensive and that it was always Levy's first choice, but this doesn't make their claim false.

Ive no doubt there is value in some of their actions, but theyve gone from being a supporters group/liaison to something political and more akin to a union. Shades of Bob Crow in them now.

They have no place encouraging people to boycott games, especially when the cause is fudge all to do with Spurs. They have no place demanding explanations of our transfer business, and the speed and glee with which they did betrays their self importance. They have no place demanding half the brick they do.

Now, off of the back of a survey of 4,000 fans, they have again managed to get lots of media attention and spin a negative frame on the club.

I can see the survey was at the clubs request, the club using them as they should be used, but their response has fuelled all of this:

There are 7 members of the THST board and they have decided that they...just the 7 of them...won’t be going to the game.

But by announcing this personal decision through the Trust’s social media and encouraging others to boycott, they have enabled headlines like The Times’ “Spurs fans call for boycott of Stadium MK match”. All because seven self important, entitled egotists have got the hump about another club’s history.

The two leading lights of the THST are PR and comms professionals, so they can't pretend to be surprised by that outcome.
