A pointless game to keep us entertained until we next play. Who can come up with the best side from the current squad with every player played out of position.

OK, here goes.

...................Kane

Sissoko...Wanyama..Davies..Verts

..........Alderweireld..Rose...

.......Aurier...Dier...KWP

..................Son

Keeper: Kane (although we'd concede buckets, obviously).

RB: Lloris (Just for the powerful throw-ins on the edge of the opposition box)
CB: Wanyama (Same as you)
CB: Davies (Ditto)
LB: Winks (Distribution from the left - also would probably be a good FB, to be honest)
DM: Aurier (big, fast bloke, good at defending)
DM: Toby (Ditto)
RM: Trippier (man's got a wicked delivery on him)
CAM: Llorente (passes against Madrid were great)
LM: Verts ([powerful runs down the flank, might finally get a goal :p )
CF: Son (Ditto)

Interestingly, no place for Dele here. :p

Funny thing I've noticed in all my time coaching kids, but, strikers make excellent goalkeepers. All about desire to get the ball first.

Sure, there will be exceptions, but in general defenders are not good playing up front or being in the hurly-burly of central midfield. Maybe OK popping up front for a very specific and focused attacking effort like a corner or free kick - a role that can be very similar attacking or defending. But mostly content to sit at the back and stop the other side. Can't do much to change that. It's their nature.

GK: Aurier, as I think we'd get crazy keeper antics out of him. But, he'd be fired up and want to stop everything.
LB: Lloris. Pace to attack fast. He has a good engine & his poor passing can be more easily masked.
CB: Wanyama. Strong, he'd be the final bastion in defence. The impossible road block to get past for the opposition.
CB: Dembele. Imposing strength, physical nature and the ability to bring the ball out of defence.
CB: Harry Kane. Thinks like a striker, so could anticipate what striker may do. Plus, of course he could go up for set pieces, and would make himself a nuisance in the opponents box. After Asteras, no chance I would want him in goal.
RB: Sisokko. Another player who can get up and down. He works the wing and his touch isn't great.
CM: Alderweireld. Great passing from deep and can spread the play about. Can win back possession.
CM: Vertonghen. Who else but Toby's sidekick. Good on the ball, happy to push forward, and likely to get more goals.
CM: Pochettino. Leading the side from the centre. He has shown in training sessions that he still has it. Our midfield would be looking magic you know.
SC: Rose. Possesses the battling qualities to give defenders a headache. Has already proved that he will do anything to score a goal, as he did against Chelsea in the 5-3. He also has pace and can get his name out there for his transfer by scoring more goals.
SC: Eriksen. Great technique. Good finisher. And he can be the deft striker to Danny Rose. As Eriksen almost plays the Sheringham role.

It's bold picking Dembele up front. The opposition goalkeeper won't have to worry about bringing his gloves.

I reckon that team would finish just above Arsenal in 5th place. ;)
