To all the music heads on here (I know you're here), what are your top 10 records from 2012? Here's my list;
01. Clams Casino - Instrumentals Mixtape 2
02. Actress - R.I.P.
03. 1991 - s/t
04. Lee Gamble - Dutch Tvashar Plumes
05. Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland - Black Is Beautiful
06. Jason Urick - I Love You
07. Andy Stott - Luxury Problems
08. Crackazat - Tunnel
09. Vatican Shadow - Ornamented Walls
10. 10-20 - Magnet Marsh
Tough one this year. Clams Casino barely above Actress. Two amazing producers, but I think Actress' record stops and starts a bit too much, no real flow through the album, but the tracks are of course brilliant (bar one or two tracks). 1991 came from nowhere with a fantastic album - if anyone knows what synth he's using on it, give me a holler, sounds fantastic! Lee Gamble delivers again, weird weird weird slow tempo techno-alien-soundscape stuff. Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland (Hype Williams) with one of the most experimental records I've ever heard, really weird brick, creative, a pleasure to listen to. Jason Urick with the ambient record of the year. Andy Stott delivers as per usual, really odd techno with a pretty unique drive. Crackazat the future boogy of the year-guy, really catchy, swell produced dancefloor-stuff. Vatican Shadow - rough as hell, quite dark and distorted, lots of what is supposedly Jordanian military music, odd as hell, creates a very distinct atmosphere. Magnet Marsh has a lot of great tracks, really great tracks, but some are rather boring - still excellent production, one of the few beat makers of the new generation still managing to keep it fresh.
