Top 10 Records of 2012

To all the music heads on here (I know you're here), what are your top 10 records from 2012? Here's my list;

01. Clams Casino - Instrumentals Mixtape 2
02. Actress - R.I.P.
03. 1991 - s/t
04. Lee Gamble - Dutch Tvashar Plumes
05. Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland - Black Is Beautiful
06. Jason Urick - I Love You
07. Andy Stott - Luxury Problems
08. Crackazat - Tunnel
09. Vatican Shadow - Ornamented Walls
10. 10-20 - Magnet Marsh

Tough one this year. Clams Casino barely above Actress. Two amazing producers, but I think Actress' record stops and starts a bit too much, no real flow through the album, but the tracks are of course brilliant (bar one or two tracks). 1991 came from nowhere with a fantastic album - if anyone knows what synth he's using on it, give me a holler, sounds fantastic! Lee Gamble delivers again, weird weird weird slow tempo techno-alien-soundscape stuff. Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland (Hype Williams) with one of the most experimental records I've ever heard, really weird brick, creative, a pleasure to listen to. Jason Urick with the ambient record of the year. Andy Stott delivers as per usual, really odd techno with a pretty unique drive. Crackazat the future boogy of the year-guy, really catchy, swell produced dancefloor-stuff. Vatican Shadow - rough as hell, quite dark and distorted, lots of what is supposedly Jordanian military music, odd as hell, creates a very distinct atmosphere. Magnet Marsh has a lot of great tracks, really great tracks, but some are rather boring - still excellent production, one of the few beat makers of the new generation still managing to keep it fresh.

Gimme your lists! :)

For me sadly no top ten list of songs this year would be cometh without PSY - Gangnam Style. Now, don't get me wrong, the song irritates me as much as it does most of you but to have had 1 billion views on YouTube shows the social impact that the song had.

If you want favourite songs then that's, of course, a different list and would be completely individualist. I will try to post some of my choices for that top ten listing later.

Song of the year for me in every way shape and form. Just genius.

I was out with mates on Saturday & one of my mates told me that he'd never heard it, I was amazed. I thought it was unavoidable just like Umbrella by Rihanna had been.

I'll come back to this later, too many good records (as always) this year to remember.

I'm going to write a list of my favourite songs soon but I will say that for me Paradise by Coldplay will always be linked, in my mind, to the Olympics and as such it has a special place for me.

Can I be honest with you? Never heard the song fully - heard slight snippets. Seen the dancing on sites like UberHumor but thats about it. I may give it a listen now.
