Summerize the last 2 months.

So I have been completely cut off from the outside world for the last two months, I left right before the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. Can someone tell me what's been going on? Only 5 points off 4th huh, is Soldado still a flop? What about Erik?

Can't wait for the summer.

Oh, did you mean summarize ?? (American English) or summarise (British English) ?

Well, the last two months prior to April, results went our way but March showed we weren't good enough in the tough games v the top four nor europa league. Our defense and defensive set up wasn't good enough, our attack to easy to read and break up against the top teams.

However, if you mean the last two months of the season which is April and May, we should win all our games except wet spam in which this season we've lost twice under Tim. He's got to figure that one out. These games, if we win, will put pressure on the toffees and le scum, but am expecting we'll finish 6th - we must finish above manyoo, when did we last do that ? EL next season, for the winner, means the CL, and THAT and/or winning the league, would be fantabulous.

That should cover what you, I think, meant.

The usual Spurs rollercoaster

Boosted by the win at SJP we then proceed to play poor on a poor pitch in the Ukraine then play even worse on the Sunday at Norwich making their average team look like Brazil.
After the euphoria of the midweek comeback win in the 2nd leg v Dnipro, we fall over the line at home to Cardiff on the Sunnday.
We compete at Chelsea until we capitulate after a defensive error and harsh penalty, then IMO get 'schooled' at home by Benfica, quickly followed by the NLD. Early goal sets us back, but in the end didnt think we deserved to lose.
We nearly pull off a miracle in Portugal with a scratch side, then comeback from 2-0 down to get a valuable win v Soton.
Enough said about Anfield, outplayed from minute one, and of course Monday night we are back on the upward leg of the ride.
Soldado bagged a goal v Cardiff, then didnt get the chance to follow it up as he was left out for the next few games, but did play v Soton, before getting injured v Liverpool
Erik who? Still injured

I'll be nice and write a little summary:

Saudi Sportswashing Machine 0 v 4 Spurs: A real decent performance although we did have a few heart in mouth moments. Sherwood played a DM and it worked out really well for us.

Dnipro 1 v 0 Spurs: An aweful pitch and some even worse misses from Soldado and Chadli meant that we had an uphill battle for the second leg.

Norwich 1 v 0 Spurs: We looked absolutely terrible and could barely cause them any problems. Sherwoods ratings took a beating after this result as a lot of people thought it marked then end of our top four challenge. What was worse in most peoples mind was the omission of Eriksen from the team in these two games, when the team clearly lacked a creative spark.

Spurs 3 v 1 Dnipro: Dnipro turned up and sat back looking to see the tie out. Worse was to come as they took the lead early in the second half only for us to pull one back soon after. Jan then got a Dnipro player sent of with a decent bit of acting (although the guy did try to nuzzle into him) before Ade scored a quickfire double to give people hope. We saw out the tie and advanced.

Spurs 1 v 0 Cardiff: Soldado got a goal and almost broke down when it went in. The teams display wasn't particularly brilliant but it kept us in the race.

Chelsea 4 v 0 Spurs: We turned up with a bizarre lineup with the impression that we were going for a draw. The first half went well but we never threatened for all our possession. In the second half Mourinho made some changes but it was ultimately a mistake from us which opened the scoring. Kaboul then got sent off (wrongly) and Chelsea went on to score the penalty plus two more gift wrapped goals thanks to player mistakes. After the game Sherwood came out and mauled the team saying that they turned up playing with no passion, that we were too nice to one another and stated that there were some players in the dressing room that he wouldn't trust. This caused a bit of a stir in the media (understatement). He also went on to tell the board that they need to wake up if they think that the team are good enought to make the top four.

Spurs 1 v 3 Benfica: Benfica came to town and for the first 20 minutes posed little threat, before scoring from a rapid counter attack. The second half wasn't much cop despite Eriksen scoring a beauty of a free kick. Sherwood fell out with the opposition manager after he started making some gestures after their third goal. This was another result which had a lot of people speculating that Tim was too young for the position due to losing his temper and being out thought on the pitch.

Spurs 0 v 1 Arsenal: Arsenal were **** plain and simple. Rosicky scored a worldy in the second minute and despite Oxlade Chamberlain screwing up a couple of counter attacks they didn't trouble us for the rest of the match. Unfortunately despite having the lions share of the possession were rarely troubled Szczesny and this really was the result that killed our top four ambitions.

Benfica 2 v 2 Spurs: We went out there with nothing to lose and very nearly came away with a win. Sandro and Fryers started in defence as we had no other options and did a decent job. Soldado and Townsend were ineffective and were swapped late in the game for Kane and Eriksen. Chadli then scored a quick brace and we well and truly had them on the ropes. There were a good couple of chances we almost took and a decent penalty shout before they countered in the last minute. Sandro made the foul in the box to stop the move and they got the equaliser.

Spurs 3 v 2 Southampton: This was a good one for the media outlets with Pochettino being linked with the Spurs job. Kyle Naughton ****ed up big time on two seperate occasions leading to Southampton first half goals, before Eriksen threw us a lifeline just before half time. The second half was generally ours after the equaliser but neither team looked able to win it before Sigurdsson hit a belter in the 92nd minute.

Liverpool 4 v 0 Spurs: More defensive slips and a second minute OG basically helped Liverpool but we were out played from start to finish. Sherwood opted to spend the game in the stands having been unable to control his temper in recent weeks and at 4-0 the Spurs fans layed into him. After the game a lot was made of the Spurs players already looking like they were on holiday and having no commitment. Vertonghen in particular was singled out for criticism as he walked off early with an injury that didn't look too bad. Stories came out after the game that Sherwood hit a player in the changing room although this was toned down to "argument" later on.

Hoddle was a pundit on sky that weekend and he and Souness made a big point about the players attitude in the tunnel before the game. A few days later Sherwood came out fighting stating that the game had moved on significantly since Glenn had last been a manager. Obviously this caused quite a stir in the Spurs community with quite a few people condemning Sherwood for bad mouthing a Spurs legend.

Sherwood was also quite vocal in saying that Spurs by tradition don't beat the top teams and that we were technically outmatched.

Now in the lead up to the Sunderland game on Monday news broke that Sherwood was to be getting the axe in the summer. There was a whole article about on Skysports who were leading the story and was Jamie Redknapp being quite scathing with his attack on Levy and Baldini, no suprise given his opinion of us since we sacked his father and that he is good mates with Sherwood.

Spurs 5 v 1 Sunderland: Another defensive howler let Sunderland take the lead but in all honesty we were much the better team and the scoreline didn't flatter us. After the game Sherwood gave an interview and as expected came out swinging defending his positions as the "best" manager we have had (the best bit was a joke but a dig at the same time).

There you have it. There have been highs and lows. Sherwood has gone up in some peoples opinions whilst down in others and there remains a great deal of uncertainty over the future. People like Gullit believe that Louis van Gaal is already signed and will take over in the Summer whilst other jorunos state that we are still considering all options as LVG is waiting to see if UTD axe Moyes. The club have released a statement saying that Sherwood is having an end of season appraisal when everything will be cleared up, but no one is sure where the initial leak came from. There are numerous theories and I'm sure someone else will cover them for you.

In other news:

Lewis Holtby is doing well at Fulham but got caught out being naughty having sent pictures of himself (allegedly nude) to an air hostess. He already has a model for a girlfriend
Eric Lamela is alive apparently but is still injured and hasn't got back to full training just yet. A lot of people on here believe he is off in the summer whilst other believe that he really is injured and not crying himself to sleep at night in Italy.
Soldado has been effective recently but still no goals (assists though)
Chadli has started looking more of a player in central positions.
Eriksen is the Messiah
Paulinho publicly moaned about Sherwood not giving him a chance, he in turn publicy told Paulinho to do better in training because he has to earn his spot.
Capoue is somewhere but I'm not sure where.
Ade is also the Messiah but he has a cool salute and Spurs fans across the land are embarrassing themselves imitating it.

I've started Ade saluting to people in the street, at work, in the car, whatever. I live in nottingham too, so it's kinda weird.

like most of the season

- feels like a complete disaster, divisive views between fans, club, players yet the table still says "in with a chance of expected result"
- football itself never seems quite convincing, yet keep picking up points at a decent clip
- On course for best away season on record, but also on course for one of the larger number of losses in recent PL seasons.
- Uncertainty about who will play, who will be manager and how we are going to change this for next season.
- Eriksen, Soldado, Chadli starting to look the part, but injuries still hurting us

typical Spurs I guess ..
