Spurs turned down the chance to snap up suarez!!!

Us, get it right? Pffft, don't get your hopes up.

BTW turning down top players in the making isn't unheard of, it happens all the time at clubs. Although we would definitely have finished above scum in 2012 if Suarez was up top for us.

Good he a ****.

In his his first 18 month in the premier league we scored 15 goals.
Defoe scored exactly the same amount for us during that period on and off the bench.

He would have been shipped out quicker than you can say "Soldado".

isn't this old news?

the media would have absolutely crucified us for Suarez's antics last season and he would probably still be serving his ban

Wenger thought Modric was too weak for the Prem....Emirates Marketing Project thought RVP was too old. Every club makes these mistakes.

Chelski gave away Matic and then bought him back for a massive fee also. That has to be worse?

As for Suarez. Well he is having one of those seasons like Bale last year. It can take one manager to unlock a player and Rogers has done that like AVB did for Bale.

Oh yes

Different sport and one from the archives.

A young Australian sailor called Brian Bevan came over to England for a trial at Leeds RLFC, they turned him down because they didnt think he would make it a RL player.
Warrington took a chance on him and he went on to score 740 tries for us and become a legend \o/

Pique and Fabregas are a prime example of big teams making mistakes.

Both couldn't sign professional contracts because of Spanish regulations and Man United and Arsenal took full advantage by offering them big money deals to move iirc. Those regulations have since been changed I think and poaching of youngsters from top Spanish academies has been made more difficult.

At the very least both were very highly rated by Barcelona at the time.

Unless you're talking about United making a mistake in letting Pique return to Barcelona, in that case there's a point to be made for sure. But since you mentioned him with Fabregas I thought you meant their moves to England.

Breaks your heart doesnt it?

this season I could be of very well been watching Bale behind Suarez the 2 best players in the country for my team.

When will we get it right???

We could also never have seen Bale in a Spurs shirt at all if a bigger club had gotten that one right.

Very easy in hindsight... More swings and roundabouts in real time. Definitely small margins though...

I wouldn't want him at the club, even if he was available free tomorrow.

We missed the chance of signing Terry from Senrab along with King too, and I'm similarly glad.

Moral high ground every time - our club by-and-large retains its integrity.

Missed out on Mitchu too,Gerry Armstrong tipped Spurs off a good two years before he went to Swansea, only £2 million as well..........we don't buy players that are priced that low,but if they said he's valued at £8 million we would have bought him, lol.

Pienaar, Holtby? Levy seems to like the cheap deals resulting from contract issues, financial troubles etc.

Unsurprisingly with 19 other PL clubs most of the best value deals will be made by someone that's not us.
