Spurs first 11 from past 10 years.

So things are all a little depressing right now with regards to how we're playing and seemingly underperforming. So let's have a discussion on your first 11 from players of the past 10 years. Here's mine done very quickly and without much though! (so don't rip me apart too much...)

...............................Lloris................................
Walker......Woodgate..........King................BAE
..........Huddlestone....Carrick.......Modric...........
Bale...................Keane......................Berbatov

Lloris
Corluka - Woodgate - King - Assou-Ekotto
Carrick - Modric
Lennon - vDv - Bale
Berbatov

Huddelstone, really?

Lloris
Walker King Woodgate BAE
Modric Carrick
Lennon VdV Bale
Berbatov

No hesitation for me:

-------------Lloris

Corluka---King--Dawson---BAE

-----Sandro----Modric

--vdV---Berbatov----Bale

-----------Keane

If we're going by whose the better player id have Corluka - but in terms of a functioning line up i think Walker would be the better option in the 4231 set up

.................................Lloris.................................

Carr...........Vertonghen..........King.................Ziege

....................Carrick............Modric...........................

Lennon.................Van Der Vaart.....................Bale

..............................Berbatov.............................

Vertonghen is perhaps a little debatable, was a toss-up really between him and Woodgate but i'm basing it on performances/ability displayed in his first season here and at the moment i feel he is playing way within himself. Also believe Eriksen has the potential to be in that line-up in place of VDV, but i've opted for VDV as he has produced.

------------------Lloris------------------ (Although Gomes in the CL qualifying season was just sensational)

Corluka---Dawson---King------Ekotto

Lennon---Huddlestone----Modric---Bale

-----------Berbatov----Keane-----------

This team is based on what they did for us. But I can't believe I've not got Sandro or Van Der Vaart in the side.

The best side on how good they are:

------------------Lloris------------------

Corluka---Woodgate----King------Ekotto

-------------Sandro----Modric------------

Lennon----------VdV---------------Bale

---------------Berbatov--------------------

442 Wonky

Lloris
Walker Woodgate King Vertonghen
Bale Carrick Modric Eriksen
Berbatov Kanoute

Only real issue was the left back. BAE and LYP too unreliable. Vertonghen would perform in that team. He would not be sulking through games with that class around him.

August 2004 he buggered off.

Edit - Ziege went in 2004 too so he doesn't qualify either ;)

Ziege left summer 2004

And there is no way Berbatov and VDV could play in the same 11. We would be overrun. Neither had any interest in working off the ball.

Interesting that most people have picked BAE at left back yet he's still actually our player and isn't even training with the team.

Makes you wonder what went on.

A speedy back three playing the mother of all high lines, with the great Hugo behind them ..
Carrick and the Pitbull offering protection in the middle of the park and pushing the ball on quickly with accuracy to any of the great talents ahead.

Ziege left more than 10 years ago didn't he? Think Carr did as well.

My team:

..........................Lloris

Corluka.....Woodgate.......King...........BAE

........................Carrick

................Modric.........Davids

Bale................Berbatov...............Keane

Subs (7): Freidel, Bassong, Mendes, VDV, Lennon, Defoe, Mido

based on their best seasons for us:

-------------------lloris
walker------kaboul----king----ekotto
--------------carrick---modric
---lennon--------bale-------eriksen
------------------berbatov

subs: friedel, dawson, sandro, hudd, vdv, keane, adebayor.

Was tough to fill the left midfield/attack role, as I'm putting Bale in the free-role he excelled in under AVB. I've given Eriksen the nod, as he was very dangerous from the left side last season. Lennon down the right -- I did want to put VdV in the team, but he played his best football in that Bale position. Bale is the first name on the sheet, so VdV is among the subs.
