Thought Walker, Dembele and Lennon were the best players for us

No-one particularly had a mare, apart from Lloris for the goal. Holtby huffed and puffed as usual but again played in the wrong role

Lloris - 6 - (Silly error for the goal, other then that pretty solid though)

Walker - 8 - (Very good performance from him, getting better and better as the weeks go on)
Capoue - 8 - (Solid at the back, crucial interceptions, good in the air, very impressed, best game in the Spurs shirt)
Dawson - 7 - (Not troubled much surprisingly, not sure why Poyet chose Fletcher to play furthest forward but it helped us)
Naughton - 7 - (One of his best games for us)

Lennon - 8 - (Man of the match for me, caused problems all afternoon, put in a brilliant defensive shift too)
Paulinho - 7 - (One of his best games of the season too. So happy for him that he got his goal, unlucky not to get a few more)
Dembele - 7 - (Much better second half, just like the whole team, great ability to set up the winning goal)
Chadli - 7 - (Thought he grew as the game went on, strong on the ball, wins headers and the assist was great)
Holtby - 7 - (ARBEIT)

Defoe - 7 - (He has been much better in the previous two games then he has been in all year in the Premier League, really should have had 2 or 3 the past two games though)

--

Sandro - 6.5 - (Not much to do, unlucky not to concede a penalty, put in some strong tackles)
Townsend - 7 - (Caused problems on the left, thought he was intelligent at times, best on the left)
Sigurdsson - 6 - (Not enough time in the game really)

Gold star for Townsend who looked very good on the left as sub.

Very odd ratings here imo.

Thought they had decent games, but nothing more than that really, thus an 'average' score. Few poor clearances and couple of times Altidore troubled Dawson, he was also caught for pace once and gave away a free kick in a dangerous area. I'm not saying they were crap - just an average game.

Lloris - 5.5. Awful punch set up Johnson for an easy first goal, but was otherwise solid enough.

Walker - 8. Our best performer today. Was unbeatable at the back, and put in some surprisingly decent crosses and calculated cut-backs when overlapping down the right. I've always said he would come good: he has too much promise not to. Hopefully this is him starting to deliver on that promise.
Dawson - 6. Largely untroubled.
Capoue - 6.5. See above, with the added bonus of decent distribution from the back at key times.
Naughton - 6.5. Good performance, wasn't overly troubled and put in a composed shift despite not offering much up front.

Paulinho - 7. As ever, made good forward runs. Bit wasteful with his passing and finishing, but good reactions to slide the ball home for our equalizer.
Dembele - 8. Glided past players with ease, was solid defensively and it was his driving run that led to the OG winner. Great performance.

Lennon - 7.5. Worked tirelessly, put in some good crosses and tormented Sunderland's left flank all game.
Holtby - 6.5. As ever, worked extremely hard when not in possession. Couldn't affect the game as much as he would have liked, however.
Chadli - 7. His strength and power in the air led to both our equalizer and a couple of good headed chances later on. Play him as an inside forward and I suspect we would see quite a few goals from him.

Defoe - 6. Was good to see some life in our front man for once: his movement bamboozled Sunderland's centre-backs more than once. However, wasteful finishing led to an unnecessarily nervy finale.

Subs -

Sandro - 6.5. Stemmed the Sunderland barrage a bit.
Sigurdsson - N/A.
Townsend - N/A, although he did set up one great chance for Paulinho immediately after coming on.

AVB - 7. Good selection, and presumably a good shuffle at half-time to get the lads motivated and energetic enough to produce a second half like the one we just saw. Good day for the boss.

Lloris 5 Another howler gifts the opposition a goal.
Naughtan 7 A solid game.
Capoue 7 Has played at centre back at Toulose (spelling?) apparently.
Dawson 7 solid.
Walker 7.5 Very good game. Hate it when he goes down however, hoping for a free kick. Sometimes the ref wont pay them.
Lennon 7 Tracked back well and didnt waste possession. Played in some dangerous balls.
Dembele 7 Much better from him over the last few weeks.
Paulhino 7.5 Looks knackered. Took his chance well.
Chandli 6 Needs to get more involved.
Holtby 6 Not the answer in the central forward mid field spot. Very impressed with his defensive pressing game though.
Defoe. 7 More involved than usual. Made good runs, also laid the ball off effectively a couple of times. Should have got two at least.

Thought Daws and Capoue were good today. In fact I'll agree with KD's ratings.

Chadli looked better when he was in AM

Didn't catch the whole match, saw most of the first half and the last 15 minutes in second.

Lee Mason - utter turd.

Holtby being under rated IMO, I wonder if Defoe buries that great assist if scores would be higher.

First half i thought he was rather poor but good second half. His work rate is always brilliant but he can't keep dropping back to look for the ball (which he didn't really do second half). He deserves a 7 all things considered.

Don't yiz get yourselves carried away, though; Sunderland aren't quite as ріѕѕ-poor as they were, but they're not still in the basement for no reason. Defoe should have had a hat-stand.
