Friedel - 5. Looked slow and stuck to his line.

Walker - 5. Poor crossing again and slowed up play when he could have whipped it in first time.
Dawson - 6. Alright.
Chiriches - 6. Alright.
Vert' - 6. Looked frustrated.

Townsend - 4. Constant poor decisions.
Paulinho - 6. Much better 2nd half (I wonder why...)
Dembele - 4. **** poor.
Sig - 5. Anonymous.

Ericksen - 5. Nothing really came off.

Soldado - 5. I'm still waiting for things to click for him (I think they will btw)

Subs:
Sandro - 7. Superb, instantly showed why he should always start.
Kaboul - 6. Decent shift, pushed forward well.
Defoe - 4. Didn't touch the ball I don't think.

AVB - 4. Poor line-up, poor substitution with Defoe.

Friedel - 6 (Lloris probably would have done better with the goal. made a good save)

Walker - 6.5 (tried his best...good overlapping and lots of energy)
Dawson - 6 (decent second half but looked all over the place first half)
Chiriches - 6 (same as dawson)
Vertonghen - 6.5 (Good performance..tried his best)

Townsend - 6 (Think he played well tbh but his constant shooting is annoying.)
Demebele - 5 (Poor first half and kept losing possession)
Paulinho - 4.5 (Scared to get involved, scared to get possession, can't pick a pass for ****)
Siggy - 5 (Started getting involved but AVB thought it was best to take him off then)

Eriksen - 5 (Deary me pretty awful. Should have scored easily, poor set pieces, poor decision making)
Soldado - 5 (Not good today and did not make his usual threatening runs)

Subs

Kaboul - 6 (did well)
Sandro - 7 (very good)

Townsend frustrated the hell out of me, as he must to his team mates.

Constant shooting when a pass is on, head down and dribbling into dead-ends.

Friedel 6 Apart from th goal, he was a bystander.
Vertonghen 7 One of the few players in the team who can cross a ball.
Chiriches 7 looked good.
Dawson 7 Solid.
Walker 6 No major stuff ups, apart from getting caught out of position. Still offfers nothing going forward.
Dembele 2 Please, no more of this guy.
Paulhino 5 Keeps turning the ball over and looks light weight sometimes.
Eriksen. 6 Should have hit his shot first time. weak corners all day.
Townsend 5 No brain. Needs to be dropped. No end product.
Siggurdson 4 Was he on the pitch?
Soldado 6 More involved this week, but still not up to speed.
Sandro. 8 Our best player, really turned thing around.
Defoe 3 did not figure. Did he touch the ball?

I note that every single one of our creative players is below par, with the possible exception of Walker and Verts (depending on how you define creative). And that's been the case all season - our individual flair players all off form (or in Lamela's case not playing).

I think Sodado has done what he should do in the box
 
Friedel 6 - Lloris would have surely been out to Remy much quicker but whether that would have made the difference, who knows?
Walker 6 - decent game overall, crossing quality too inconsistent
Dawson 7 - solid
Chiriches 7 - impressive
Verts 7 - got away with it at times, crossing could have been a tad better
Townsend 6 - struggled for space against two, three sometimes even four defenders
Dembele 4 - just not his day, crucially yielded possession in critical area that led to their goal
Eriksen 6 - some good touches but feeble shooting and use of dead ball
Paulinho 6 - never that far away from making the difference, one of these days he's going to get a break
Sigurdsson 5 - back to his most invisible and frustrating today, improved second half
Soldado 6 - see Paulinho

Subs

Kaboul 6 - defended well, still makes me nervous going forward
Sandro 7 - some stout defending despite the odd dodgy moment
Defoe 5 - this is the Premiership so what did we expect?

AVB 6 - half time substitutions were spot on but by 70 mins the game was screaming out for the revitalised Lamela who showed on Thursday he has the capability to unlock a resolute defense yet he goes for Defoe who was always going to get swallowed up by it.

Same for me, Dembele and Siggy should no longer be considered as first choice options, also I thought Paulie bottled the challenge big time in the lead up to their goal, Dembele gets caught in possession far to much and contributes little.

Friedel 6 - Not much to say really, he didn't have much to do

Walker 6.5 - Attacked well, thought he was too far up the pitch at certain times, encroaching on Townsends space and leaving us vulnerable to the counter. Defended well though when needed.
Dawson 6 - Too many long balls that never made it, but did defend well enough. Got caught out a couple of times.
Chiriches 7 - Was good going forward and defending, shame he had to go off as it forced a change on us.
Vertonghen 7 - As we would expect, the guy is too good for this current setup.

Paulinho 5 - Lacks a first touch, takes potshots that will never go in and was a big part of the reason we went in 0-1 at HT. Even in our first attack, his pass was too heavy when a better weighted ball would've allowed Walker to make a cross first time. Second half he was better but IMO he needs a day with a ball and a garage door to improve his first touch.
Dembele 4 - He goes left every time and the Saudi Sportswashing Machine players knew it, so they nullified him, out muscled him and he was substituted on 45 mins.

Eriksen 6 - Actually played well at times. He contributed a lot and played in others. That cross in the first half should've been buried by Soldado.
Townsend 5 - Didn't do much today. He tried but couldn't get past his man, although he was 1v2 most the time. Seems lazy when defending which is annoying.
Sig 5 - Anonymous

Soldado 6 - Feeding off scraps for most the game but linked play up really well and should've got a goal. Frustrating for him and us.

Subs
Sandro 7 - The man made a platform for everything we did in the second half. He received the ball and played a quick first time pass or turned and moved into space. Broke a lot of attacks down and contributed to that 20 minute period of pressure we had immensely.
Kaboul 6 - Don't remember him being troubled much by anything.
Defoe 5 - Anonymous. Don't get the commentators love in for him. He was celebrated before the game for being in fine form in Europe in midweek yet if Soldado had have come away with a penalty goal it wouldve been ignored.

AVB 5: Ok so he was forced into the Chiriches substitution, but was right to bring off Dembele for Sandro as this gave us a platform to build off of. Then he screwed up and went 442 from the 70th minute. We were looking good up until that point and I think we dropped off in intensity as soon as he changed the formation. Eriksen was completely nullified being pushed out wide and we pressured them less it seemed. Finally though, throwing Dawson up top in the last 5 mins is really a sign of desperation, I thought we were done with those days
