Spurs v Leicester
Wembley Stadium
Kick off at 1.30 PM GMT Sunday February 10.

Since noone else seems to have been doing the honours yet, why not pop my OMT virginity with a thread for this potential banana skin of a game. More custard and less drunkenness involved in this than when I lost my actual virginity, fortunately.

Here is a badger:

Team news...

https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/ne...-raindrops and roses and whiskers on kittens/

Eric Dier and Vincent Janssen have joined the list of absentees for Sunday’s Premier League match against Leicester City at Wembley.

Eric has a virus and Vincent has a knee problem, with both confirmed to be unavailable this weekend.

Left-back Ben Davies (groin) is continuing with his rehabilitation while the England international duo of Dele Alli (hamstring) and Harry Kane (ankle) have commenced on-field rehabilitation.

My team is unlikely. But we could do with have a somewhat defensive mid to cover our back four. And lets face it, we need to see
if Wanyama can make his way back before summer. KWP in at right back as he had a monster game against them at the end of last
season and can actually get a cross in for Llorente to feed off.

Keeping Llorente in the team so that son can do his magic around him like the late goal against Watford.

I really think that Llorente is a waste of a place until the last fifteen minutes of a game.

I'd go with the team below, though I expect Poch will play Llorente, probably instead of Moura, and possibly also a 3rd CB rather than Lamela. We need the points though so I'd rather have an extra player who treatens the box

We desperately need another creative CM in the summer, and also to bring in an attacking player to replace Llorente/Janssen/GKN

They are brick, we’ll beat them by 5 goals like we normally do.

You need to ignore the outliers. Only the games in this list are statistically relevant,

Under no illusions this has the potential to be another attritional game. I’d dispense with the back 3 and go with

Lloris

Aurier. Toby. Jan. Rose

Winks. Dier

Lamela. Eriksen. Moura

Son. Llorente

I think Poch will go back 3 though to give us the option of Moura or Lamela from the bench.

Get Dier/Wanyama back fit, bin Aurier, move Sissoko to rwb and play Dier/Wanyama in the centre, with Winks and Eriksen either side.

We have to keep on winning to stay in the title race. But it is not going to be easy as all our remaining games are going to be tough as long as we have injury problems. Traditionally, our games against Leicester have always been tight. It seems like some kind of circus are always involved whenever we play Leicester. Who can forget the 4-4 draw in Defoe's debut match for us in 2004 or our 4-3 circus win over them in 2016 which instantly transformed Leicester from being relegation fighters to winning the league the following 1 year ! But the most annoying and tense match was last season's topsy turvy 5-4 win over them at home. We don't need any of those circus and will gladly accept a composed 1-0 win this time.

With Kane and Alli still out injured, we have to rely on the likes of Son, Llorente, Eriksen, Moura and Lamela for the goals. Son has done well to score 2 goals in his last 2 matches for us. Hope he will continue his goal scoring run. Llorente is still not convincing but hope he can help us get a goal or two as well. Lamela scored 2 goals when we beat them 5-4 last season. But he has not been in good form lately. Hope Lamela can get back his early season form and score in this match. Eriksen has not been in good form lately. He really needs to lift his game to help us win this match. Moura started the season in great form and scored a few important goals for us. But he has been struggling since then. At times, Moura looks clumsy in front of goal. Moura really needs to be more composed to become a consistent goal scorer for us.

Our options seems limited in midfield. With Dembele sold and Wanyama not fully fit, we again have to rely on Sissoko and Winks. Both have done well lately but they still need to improve their performance. It will help us greatly if both can help us create or score more goals from midfield. Sissoko really needs to improve his finishing for all his hard work and runs.

Our defence really need to do much better than the 5-4 win last season. We cannot afford to be as generous as that match. Lloris, Vertonghen and Alderweireld need to be more alert all the time. We need to look out for the long range shots. Still not fully convinced of Sanchez but hope he will have an error-free match if he does play. We did well to beat Leicester 2-0 away earlier in the season. Hope we can repeat that performance and stop them scoring in this match.

It is going to be another tense match. We had to rely on late goals to win our last 3 matches. Hope we can score early in the first half to help us settle down and then score more goals to kill the game off. Let's hope we will turn up with the right team and mentality to beat Leicester and stay in the league title race.

Any team news yet ?

Wish we can have Kane and Alli back for this match, especially Kane who has scored 11 goals against Leicester. Without Kane, our goals have dried up. We really need to score more than 2 goals to win any match comfortably. And we badly need to score in the first half because the longer the match goes without us scoring the more pressure it will be on us. Let's hope we will put a good performance and get a comfortable win over Leicester to move closer to the top of the league.
