I wonder if there will be some rotation from the start. Udogie, Kulusevski, Johnson and Solanke have played a lot. Romero and Werner (if available) had to come off against City.

Not a lot of options for most of those. But starting all of them may end up with us low on energy in this one. And it's one where we'll probably need a lot of energy.

I'm worried Udogie is being overplayed and is tempting an injury too much. Obviously Spence LB preferred if he makes it fitness wise.

Davies also played against Villa last season in the November loss. They piled their big men forward for set pieces, ate Ben up and spat him out. He was incredibly ordinary against Watkins and Diaby in open play as well.

Villa would be the last team I would put Davies in the line-up against. Pao Torres will be rubbing his hands together from set pieces.

As opposed to Reguilon, who he doesn't even consider? Ange's go-to to replace Udogie has been Spence. The only other player to get time there is VdV or Davies, so he was obviously considered then.

When did Davies last play LB for us? I might have misremembered/missed one, but I don't remember it for a long time.

Maybe but unless there has been a fall out behind doors i can see no reason why he should not be selected in the squad. Udogie has been off form for a few games now and i would rather see Reggie given a chance to show his form.
