What a lovely young lady.
What a lovely young lady.
I like stuff like this, I paid for 4 homeless people to have christmas lunch, a shower and a haircut through the Crisis charity, hope they have a nice day
At the risk the sounding rather cynical, I see this act partly inspired by self publicity and having something to put on her CV, which there is nothing wrong with, but often behind charitable acts there is at least at hint of personal gain as the motive.
Eh. It could be argued that charity itself is inherently self-serving: if you gain more utility from helping others than you do from more mundane pursuits, you'll make helping others your primary goal. Still means you're maximising your utility at the cheapest possible cost (just like everyone else), just that you're doing it based on it making you happy more than more conventional pursuits making you happy.
Doesn't mean we shouldn't appreciate people who do take that up, though: whatever their motivations, they're making the dark, amoral old world a bit better while (possibly) pursuing their own motives, and that's a side-effect of their activity that most of us don't get to experience in our own daily lives (where our biggest concerns are usually not making the world a worse place).
Good on this young lady.
It might be because I have drunk to much scotch tonight or it might be because I am thick but I did not understand a word of what you said, I agree with the last sentence though.
