New Doctor Who

Watched Dr who ever since it started. Couldnt give a stuff now. The over acting is mind boggling and really they have run out of storylines re the Daleks and Cybermen. Done to death. Always wondered why they never brought back the Ice Warriors and the Yeti though. That might re-spark my interest.

My kids absolutely love it now... not as scarey any more though (although the weeping angels are creepy) but that could be an age thing... the one I hated as a kid was called The Green death (I think) and featured maggots in coalmines and green slime that when touched made you glow green... I hated that one!

I remember being scared of Dr Who as a kid, then again I was scared of everything

I don't watch it these days, then again I barely watch anything on TV. I don't think I saw a Dr Who episode with Matt Smith as the doctor. So doesn't bother me who the new doctor is, comes across as a kids show these days.

might just be me but it's been pretty brick since sylvester McCoy left, the special effects are tinkle poor (spoilt by Hollywood cgi I know) and they are crying out for a new story arc

better move for the show than capaldi IMO, he could do so much better

It's always been a kids show EG, you just used to be one ;) I watched one when they bought it back with Ecclestone, but never since, doesn't do owt for me.

Agree entirely, presumably it pays well but seems a bit beneath him tbh.

As an aside, don't want to sound like an old fart, but did the Beeb really need a dedicated show to announce this, which was then itself reported on the news? All seemed a bit incestuous.

I think David Tennant was brilliant in the new ones, he had the perfect blend of playfulness and nastiness I wasn't keen on Eccleston (no style or panash) or Smith (a bit childish), I'll try it again with Capaldi and see what I think.
