Agreed about the scores, the lads were a team today and to a man worked hard. I could complain about the ref, and will do so to goading mates at work tomorrow, but ultimately experience showed. Turns out that glorious 5-3 win was actually the silver lining
Mason, Bentaleb, Chadlis speculative shooting was something we should have done better with ie not tried at all. With the width and delivery we have we should have asked more questions with the crosses, even with the CBs Chelsea have, keep knocking and sooner or later something would drop. But that's hindsight. Fact is, that was a bloody hard team to break down and credit to those lads for having a go.
Not memorable performance but we have seen our team capitulate before against big teams after a bright opening and what we should be proud of now is the spirit in the whole squad to compete till the end. Chelsea showed respect to Tottenham today and that's another reason they won.
Notable mentions:
Bentaleb was immense in the centre. Walker for staying on when he clearly should have gone off.
Kane, quiet for patches, really drove at Chelsea in between and always a threat.
Hugo some amazing stops and can't be held responsible for either goal.
Soldado was direct and confident when he came on, creating opportunities.
Even going into injury time I thought we could do it, even on 93 mins I thought we would score. Such was the effort of the lads.
