Had a load of piccies taken today from my works golf day, they are all 5mb, any way of making them smaller so I can email them easier...??

You can use MS photo viewer (or whatever stock windows pic viewer is called) to decrease the resolution which will make the file size smaller.

Just make sure you save an original copy elsewhere in case you need it.

Can you, how do you do that then?

Simplest way if you use Windows and Outlook is to right-click, send to email and it should offer you a choice of sizes. Leaves the originals untouched.

Photoshop.

Drag and drop the image into it. Various options.

If you like the image as is, just hit Save As and a box opens with a sliding bar governing image quality, running from 1(lowest) to 10. Total file size appears below and changes as you move the slider. Pick what you want and save it with a different name - Bob's Foursome - and it saves the original as well.

There's a crop function that will let you trim off unwanted areas. That alone reduces file size. Again save with a new file name.

In the drop-down menu under Image you'll see Image Size. Click it(or shortcut by hitting Alt+Ctrl+I). A box opens and, in the Document Size boxes, just type in the specifc numbers you want and indicate whether you you want inches, cm, mm, or others.

Dozens of other things you can do with them in that program.

As said make copies of the originals.

right click open with PAINT

Resize, 5mb I would probably look at 25%, enter 25% into Horizontal and Vertical should also happen automatically.

Save as...

Play around with the % to get what you are after, if the % is not right just click the reverse arrow which takes you back to the original size
