Jules Bianchi

Kandi1977

Garth Crooks
First of all, my best wishes goes to Jules and his family. Really hope he can recover.

I am a huge fan of F1 and have been to several races in the last 5 years, including Budapest, Istanbul, Sepang and Singapore. For those of you who haven't been to a F1 race,
it's fekking amazing! The whole F1 circus is HUGE! If you get the chance to go to a race, just do it! It's fantastic!

But back to Jules Bianchi. I have not yet seen any video of the accident, and I wonder of any of you might have a link.
It's not that I enjoy seeing people get seriously injured, far from it, but it would be interesting to see what really happend. I have a feeling that the reason FIA hasn't shown any video
is not only out of respect of Jules and his family. I think they might have something to hide.
Any links would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The FIA have not released any video, there's just this fan cam:

jesus christ, thats incredible, why are the recovery vehicles allowed on the outside of corners without there being a safety car?

That's why nobody has seen the footage. When the BBC asked officials if Bianchi had hit the recovery vehicle they shut up shop and have blanked all questions with "No comment"

For me, the race director and/or marshalls (who are normally very good) may have ****ed up.

turn 7 as well, people often go off there in the dry

It's pretty standard to recover under double-waved yellow, but as you say it's a slippery corner at best. IMO there's no way they should have been racing in the rain with a recovery vehicle and marshalls on the outside of a corner.

That's a nasty crash, ****ing hell. Makes me unwell to watch it, it's incredible that he actually survived that impact.

Very nasty indeed! Looks horrific! That wheel loaders operating weight is 15714 lb (about 7 metric tonnes!!) and is thrown up in the air! Serious fekking impact! Hope he doesn't end up as a vegetable, but it ain't looking good at all. :terry:

Don't forget there's a load on the end of a fairly long arm (Sutil's car) that's creating a pivot force. Still a massive impact but far less than it would have been without Sutil's car as a counter weight.

Looks like there was no wrap-around wall at that point.

Had he not struck the loader, he might have gone on another 10-50 yards and hit something/somebody else.

It is a sport that has its dangers as a theme, and ultimately "**** happens".

Hope he comes through OK, but I'm not getting much in the way of encouraging signs from the medical 'updates'

When Sutil Slid off there I remember thinking they have to bring out the safety car as someone else could slide off and hit him. I did not want that at the time as I wanted Lewis to win and I knew a safety car would bring them all together. But they let them race on and I was very very surprised at that. Normally if there is a crash on a corner that is basically on the racing line then they bring out the safety car. But even though Sutil did, and someone slid off under the safety car at the start of the race they let them carry on even under waved yellows it was the wrong decision.

I wish the best for Bianchi. It does not look good. Looks like his helmet hit the underside of that Cat at full speed.

I hope the guy does pull through. If he does though, given the severity of the incident, I'd be suprised to see him back racing again.
