Definitely nailed on for the Legends team
Injury-wise, Van de Ven definitely has the potential to rival Ledley...You know when you're old when:
Boyhood idol defender Judas broke my heart, won the shiz and retired.
Didn't matter tho, because we had Ledley at the back. I saw a King coronation, lose all the cartilage in his knees and retire
Then, Jan Vertonghen, fresh faced replacement, title and Champions League challenges just fell short. Now he's retired!
Can't see any of the current lot attaining that kind of status
Funnily enough I think it was when Ledley had got to the point where his knees were so f***ed that he could hardly train that he stopped being out injured all the time and played his best football!Injury-wise, Van de Ven definitely has the potential to rival Ledley...
It might be controversial, but I think players should train very little when there are lots of matches in a short period. There is no need for them to add wear and tear.Funnily enough I think it was when Ledley had got to the point where his knees were so f***ed that he could hardly train that he stopped being out injured all the time and played his best football!
