Internet connection speed

What is generally considered good speed for Internet connection? I just did a test, 6.50 Mbps was the download speed. Ping was 30 ms and upload speed was 0.67

I've got a mac btw.

We have Sky fibre and its 40MB down and 10MB up. As Boonie mentioned though iPlayer does stutter alot during HD playback. Whether thats a processing problem on the HTPC I'm using or the coding BBC use I don't know. Seems to work ok on PS3 though.

It is odd, my PC is hardwired to the router and I get buffering on any HD streaming, however my wireless stuff (ipad, phones, ps3, xbox, smart TVs etc) works perfectly. I just don't understand. Also noticed after about 3 days of streaming video I get throttled by Virgin.

I had a similar issue once. It was a mismatch between GPU driver and Flash version - might be worth a look. Check your CPU when streaming, it should be quite low if you're accelerating properly.

To be honest my GFX card died last year and I have been using the on board since then, hmm good excuse for a PC upgrade :)
