Hypothetical Question Thread..

Simple thread. You can ask a hypothetical question in bold or just answer a previous hypothetical question. Answering a question does not mean you have to ask one.

I'll go first;

You can either say EVERY thought that comes into your head or not be able to speak at all. What would you choose?

Although being able to say eveything that comes into my head would be rather useful for times when you think of something but can't quite explain it I would still choose the not being able to speak at all option.

I'm assuming that you wouldn't be able to write down what you want to say to someone else or communicate in any other form otherwise it would be an obvious choice. But my reasons are that from time to time we all have thoughts we would rather not share with someone else. E.g. that person is fat, is ugly, your ****ing me off but I'd rather avoid an argument, I'd like to have a go on your wife etc.

What would be the point in being able to say what ever you can think off if you end up despised alone and with no one to share with and no where to go? Chances are within a few months you'd end up dead from what you were thinking and I think that applies to every human being. I'd rather be unable to speak and at least that way I can still go about my life in a way where I'm safe to walk where I want without the world wanting to tear my head off.

Perhaps you could learn to control your mind. After all, the question does not define whether you are able to train your mind to think strategically or if, instead, your mind will continue to spew inappropriate thoughts in to the public domain.

Yes, but for the purposes of this hypothetical question it would be your inner voice that you say out loud. Causing you to say things like 'GHod, you've put on weight', 'Has your sister always been this fit?' etc etc. And there would be no treatment.

It's not the best hypothetical question to be honest, was hoping someone would wade in with a better one by now.

It's a hard decision but I'd be very tempted to go through with it. The odds are stacked in your favour and it's a life changing sum of money. But, there's always that risk and it would depend who placed the gun with the bullet. If it was someone like Derren Brown then the odds change against you. So hmm, not sure but damn, would be tempting.
