Have you ever met anyone who worked in a kitchen

Danishfurniturelover

the prettiest spice girl
that did not smoke weed?

was at a function tonight, only got home in time for the penalties. So im getting some fresh air because i was a little nervous and having to give a speach, i see the kitchen porter and the chef and their happily smoking away. Honestly do not think i ever meet anyone who worked in that industry who did not smoke.

Helped out in a kitchen all in evenings all through my apprenticeship days 16-20. Yeah people will just say 'its just a kitchen job' but my word stressful and full on as fudge....no surprised certain herbs are smoked.

not knocking and while you might suggest i asked for a toke i could not possibly comment.

This is what random is about...for the record, I would agree and yes, I know a few and two of them smoke for sure...

16:20?

You know what time of day that is, right?

4:20!!!!

supposedly drug use (not just weed) is fairly rampant between chef's, kitchen workers and the like.

Funnily enough our local indian has a group of them (waiters and chefs) who smoke weed round the back.

My brother who just graduated works part time in a kitchen, his mate (with a surname of green would you believe) is always puffing away.

Must be stress of the job.

Three of the chefs at my place don't smoke or take anything, which is surprisingly as scouse chefs are particularly renowned for being complete wreckheads.

How went the speech?

Note to all head chefs. if your staff are stressed then you are brick at your job, no matter how many motoring organisations proffer recognition for your food and service.

Have you ever worked in a kitchen? It's very hot, you are multi-tasking like crazy with small time windows to get everything done correctly whilst trying not to burn or cut yourself or your workmates, while following correct food safety procedures. Try it sometime, it'll make you a lot more appreciative of the people who do it for a living

I

I will be observing a minutes silence tomorrow lunchtime in honour of all kitchen staff who have lost life and limb in keeping the nation temporarily replete.
