I was messing around on youtube mentally preparing for the weekend and thought "why not see if any highlights of my first trip to White Hart Lane exist?"
And bugger me, look what I found.

Line up: Clemence, Stevens, Thomas, Gough, Mabbutt, Roberts, Waddle Hoddle, Falco, Allen, Galvin
I was 12 years old, a little Australian boy (albeit one brought up on a diet of Dutch and English football) with his Dad and older brother sitting in the West Stand (I think?) on the first tier. I remember being amazed at how we all sang in unison (and so loud!!) with each other, and the songs were immediately answered by the away section.
I remember Hoddle hitting a pass from our side of the pitch to the other without looking, and how tinkled off Dad was the entire train trip home.
Feck me I wish I could go back in time and watch that match again. Funny how, 25+ years later, we can still dominate possession, play great passing football, miss chances galore and manage to throw away points by conceding goals through mistakes late on.
Forgive the indulgence.
