It surely can't be this single post that got him banned right? There has to be more to it.

Dark jokes happen on social media and the time to deal with them is when they are racist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-semitic etc. We all know the list.

No way Levy's team would be this precious in my mind for this one. They would be banning people left, right and centre if they scanned what was written every day.

You do have to wonder if any of this is true , appeal in three years ?? , fans banned by clubs have the right of appeal to other bodies not just the club concerned.

To appeal a football club ban, supporters must typically first appeal to the club in writing within the specified timeframe (usually 7-14 days), outlining reasons for the appeal. If the internal appeal fails, you can escalate the complaint to the relevant governing body like The FA, Premier League, or Football League. For unresolved issues after this stage, the Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) provides a final, non-binding review of procedural fairness.

You can't joke about killing people in any context, but this one is particularly tasteless.

I get the sensitivity now. I wasn't even thinking on that dimension to be fair. I was just seeing the football dimension.

So if an Arsenal fan wrote the same thing about Kroenke and Hitler, does it pass the humour test or do they get banned? Ditto with Levy and Putin / Trump being in the room as opposed to Hitler?

I can see why most of us are so minimalistic on using social media.
 
Amazing how Spurs were able to trace this fan and ban him, considering most users on twitnews don't use their real names or publish their home address or phone number did Spurs go to the police and get them to trace this fan through his ISP. ?
Says he has been banned from club premises , anyone going to the Spurs shop today can you tell us if his photo is posted all over the shop so that staff know to chuck him out . :)

I wonder if the Hitler part played a part as well given Levy is Jewish?

I feel there is more to it than a single post, I imagine he had been posting similar for a while and they just had enough.

Some of the stuff aimed at Levy was unacceptable, whatever your view on him as a chairman.

From the way he speaks about fans who "follow my content" and from the blurry thumbnail pics at the bottom of the statement, it sounds/looks like he might be a podcaster or regular poster/commentator on things-Spurs. Probably not hard for the club to work out who he is.

Yeah, agree.

I also think that is why the guy that made the post apologised. To him it was a throwaway comment in a football context and he perhaps didn't see the German / Jewish connection at the time of writing. He was just trying to be funny with a joke that, let's face it, is commonplace or variations of and has been for decades.

Our club doesn't need negativity at the moment though. The money is being ploughed into the club and we've just won a trophy. So much to be excited about. I get the wrongs of the past narrative with Levy. I don't find much reason to bash him right now though. He's mostly doing a good job.

That guy can keep his stupid Levy biases away from WHL.

I agree, I don't think there was any anti Jewish malice to it, but given the tensions around at the moment, I imagine the club are rightly on edge given our ownership and background.

I've just searched his handle on X and he seems to have deleted the entire account which to me suggests there is more posts along the same line, if he had a large number of followers, it would be a consideration to send out a warning on fan behaviour.

This guy may just have been unlucky and been chosen to be made an example of over a number of other potential tweeters, but tough.

I have seen variations of that tweet before, so I don't think its the Jewish connotations, at least I don't think its purposely meant in that context, BUT as someone else said, with the heightened level of threat to DL house and things, people need to be smarter than saying they would shoot the guy. Its idiotic
