Daniel Levy - Chairman

I understand people are concerned that some managers are reported not to be interested in being our manager, but I don't want a manager who's not up for a challenge and is frightened of failure. If we are as bad as some want to paint us taking our job is a free hit, fail and it's not your fault succeed and your a genius.

Being frightened of failure is one thing, but being set up for failure is another.

Or having clear outlines on what the job entails and taking it based on them because you want it and think you can add value not because the salary attracts you like Jose who also then came out with "he is the perfect Chairman"....amazing what a pound note can do

Need more than a pound note in this instance

Starts from the top, the chairman is all up for a punt ... managers will happily collect money on it

It doesn't matter what anyone writes about Levy, there are people who want him out and they are never going to change their views. I think he's had a punt with Mourinho and Conte and made money available, we may not have bought well but that's what the DoF is there to do. Nobody knows what exactly goes on in transfer deals and why they fail or were even on the table but too many are prepared to believe anything they read on the basis of what someone who depends on getting hits on the internet writes, "reliable journalists" and "pundits"

Ironic that Sherwood is ridiculed on here despite his somewhat decent record and yet the guy who actually hired him doesn’t get any stick for appointing him in the first place

It's not his time as manager I take exception too as I think he did ok, it's what he spouts on about Spurs or otherwise now. Turned into a meme of himself.

That interview posted contradicts a previous version he gave and this over the top hard man act added to it, I find it hard to fathom TBH

It's also true that some people will also see the positive or look for the positive angle to take re Levy no matter what the information is. Btw we didn't have a DoF while Mourinho was at the club so you're incorrectlyl apportioning responsibility.

Didn't think I said DoF was responsible simply that they should be leading recruiting players, I don't know who identified the players we signed and I suspect others can only assume who did. But as I said if you want him out it doesn't matter what I write I'm wrong.

Really lazily the opposite is also true. There are some for whom it appears the board can do no wrong so the opposite of what you state applies.

If you think Levy is in the right no matter the debate those people will always find the boards decreasing making acceptable.

It's the nature of the beast. None of us are free of bias.

I'm certainly not someone who thinks Levy can do no wrong, but I would have more sympathy for the Levy/ENIC out crowd if they could tell me what the alternative would be, not the fictional benevolent billionaire who meets the ethical profile they set, spend unlimited money on transfers and wages, while reducing cost to fans and guarantee to win throphies. Name a suitable candidate as an owner/chairman. If they want Levy, who is only concerned with money out simply stop buying tickets and products from the club, massive drop in revenue would have a bigger effect than having a few beers and shouting in a crowd.

Did anyone know about the glazers? Abramovic etc ... not saying that I want any of these kind ... but there are alot of people out there with wealth that may be interested ... just because we don't know the names of each and every billionaire or whatever .... and anyone who goes to the game has a right to cheer or boo, sing about whatever (within reason) ... and it's clearly moving Levy to the point where his wife had to console him ... I would have expected a pity blow job but a stroke on the knee may get the old timer ticking ...

That interview posted contradicts a previous version he gave and this over the top hard man act added to it, I find it hard to fathom TBH

Even then, every time he opened his mouth he said something stupid.

That’s the issue
There is no alternative
It’s just fans shouting for change but not knowing what the change is
It’s basically Brexit

But he’s always been a bit of a gobbrick. No change there. Again isn’t that on Levy for putting him in charge in the first place? Seems a lot of people on here were/still are embarrassed by his spell as manager but no questions directed at Levy for giving Sherwood the job. Even if it was only as a caretaker.

No offence but why do we have to name alternatives? It’s the same nonsense whenever someone doesn’t rate a player, you get someone who do rates them saying “who could we get that’s better?”. None of us are scouts or have much of an idea of who could run the club. It’s not like we can buy new owners like we can when we need a shiny new goalkeeper. I doubt many Emirates Marketing Project fans had ever heard of Sheikh Mansour when they were owned by Thaksin Shinawatra.
