Well yeah as I said, football is a results business. That’s how chairmen, managers and players are ultimately judged. What was the forethought in going for AVB who had underwhelmed at Chelsea just months earlier to the say the least? Or Jose who plays football that our fans detest and the game seems to have passed him by? Or handing Mason the caretaker role just days before a cup final? That is Levy’s job to make big calls like that. Many people have called for him to relinquish control of the football side, even some of his staunch supporters don’t find this viewpoint unreasonable.
His best decision by far was getting Poch. Wasn’t a sure thing but it worked out great for us and we became a well-oiled machine to such an extent that missing out on the top 4 would have been extremely disappointing despite the manager not consistently being given the appropriate tools to do his job.
