Daniel Levy - Chairman

Genuine question - what proportion of CB pairings for top sides in recent years have consisted of one right footed and one left footed? I’d imagine it’s well below 50%? Not sure how much it matters in a back four.
There aren’t many left footed CBS so I’d say it’s quite low
Although City have 2 left footed Cbs now in ake and Laporte

wonder how much extra it cost us for that quote to be included

Nothing, this is the "dignified" end to a really ugly situation for both Bale and Madrid

- No name calling
- Play the nostalgia card (first big club where he established himself on world stage)
- Madrid can free up some money, while still not subsidizing a competitor
- Zidane gets Bale (and James) out of his dressing room

Bale and Madrid have been looking for an escape option that seems like a "win" for both parties for probably 2+ years now, Levy gave them it ..

Exactly I think Spurs are one of only a small number ?f club's who looked at figures and wanted to make it work. So TBF Bale and his agent prob do owe credit to Levy

Spoke to my mate who has done some marketing work at the club and he said Levys work on Bale and the other lad is him saying we can't not qualify for CL next year, this year with the disruption of travel and no crowds the club believe its not a bad year to miss but next they can't esp as its likely to be back to normal.

Expect another 2 signings too

Pwoper eye tee kay.

That we can afford to make signings like this, under a manager like this, in a stadium like this, is due to two decades plus of hard work and the vision of one man.
And also a bit of luck (good and bad)
The flexibility to change tact several times
And not having to buy a striker like Kane
Imagine having to buy a striker in this market :confused:

true, but Kane came through a system rebuilt since ENIC took over, thousands of people have played a part, but he deserves the bulk of the credit, and a bit of slack when the momentum is checked
In a fan of levy the business man. I’m not a fan of enic as by definition their actually quite limiting for the club. But I do prefer is being self sustaining and working on the right sis of the financial wire.

they've blown through what I considered our limit when they took over

Yeah I agree
The clubs in a very very different place
Now though we need them to either sell some of the club or invest money that ENIC doesn’t have.

If the club can continue to invest like it did last season then that should be enough to keep us competitive at the top of the table.

100-150m available each season is a lot of money - let's say we had that from when we left WHL, that's 2-3 top quality players if required every year and we see improvement rather than stagnation (and then regression)

I'd like to think those splurges are in phases. If a splurge happens and the team/squad is top quality (i.e. competing for the title still by mid-April top quality) then ypgrades/adjustments happen every year with just one or two players, whilst maybe every 4 or 5 when multiple players reach points when they need to be replaced (and tgheir eventual replacements brought in a year/18 months before they leave).

I think that's kind of what we might see with the likes of Liverpool and Emirates Marketing Project (though of course they in particular will be on more oil-based cheat mode)

That needs us back in the CL and full stadiums
It’s all doable now
