Carabao Cup 25/26

Denmark Spur

Alf Ramsey
Draw tonight.

When is the draw?

The draw takes place live on Sky Sports following coverage of the second round tie between Grimsby Town and Manchester United at Blundell Park. That game kicks-off at 8pm, so we're looking at around 10pm for the draw.

What number are we?

We'll be represented by ball number 24 in the draw.

How does the draw work?

The draw consists of 32 clubs, 23 winners from the second round, plus nine Premier League clubs competing in UEFA competitions.

Two separate bowls will be utilised - one consisting of the UCL and UEL Clubs, and one consisting of the remaining 24 clubs (the UEFA Conference League - including Palace, should they qualify - doesn't start until October, so doesn't affect this draw). As the balls will be split across two pots, a pre-draw will be required first to determine whether each of the eight UCL/UEL teams will be playing home or away - this will take place live on Sky Sports during the build-up to the Grimsby-United tie.

For the main draw, the first eight ties will be drawn by alternating between one club from Bowl 1 and one club from Bowl 2, with the home/away positioning of the UCL/UEL team already pre-determined in the earlier pre-draw. Once the first eight ties featuring the UCL/UEL teams have been drawn, the remaining eight ties will then be drawn from Bowl 2 only.

When does the third round take place?

Like last season, the third round will be split over the weeks commencing 15 September and 22 September. This is for clubs participating in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League - MD1 of this season's UCL is scheduled for 16-18 September, so our Carabao Cup tie will be scheduled for w/c 22 September.

£201m on 3 attacking players when they are so badly lacking in so many different areas

and 3 players sitting at home costing them almost £900k a week in wages that nobody are going to buy

Surely Fernandes must be thinking Saudi looks a great option

They can't draw each other, and I can only assume due to lack of flexibility on the teams to find a date that work.
I get the first part but they could still all be home or all be away if that was how the draw panned out.
And not sure that I get the flexibility thing either.

I would need to see the dates of the CL games and the league cup to see if there would be an issue.

They could have drawn them in a way to see if they play home or away.

They lack a midfielder for the system, but this is more than just personnel. They have some great players, but a system that doesn't work/suit them, and it seems they don't know what to do and they don't trust each other to do what they're supposed to do.
It's a real mess, and it's lovely to watch!

We got rid of Ange, and they sort of kept him.
