I must admit I remember now many of the posts you made about Eriksen, about Kane, about something not being right in the dressing room etc and I discounted it (or didn’t want to believe/acknowledge it) but in hindsight I think you were spot on about a lot of things - and were able to be dispassionate in your view of the situation at the time. You were right.

Alderweireld was an issue even before Eriksen. He crossed Poch, it was big, Poch wanted to sell and replace, instead he essentially had to back down. And yes, the fabled summer dinner with Eriksen...

See that Alderweireld retired from international duty due to panic attacks, hope he weren’t hooked on caffeine pills whilst playing for us.

Yes, the rebuild had barely started, but it was started and with, at the time, our biggest spend in a transfer window. Poch was backed during that window, so it wasn't down to Levy not willing to start a rebuild as you have stated.
So Levy let Poch start a rebuild only to sack him 12 PL games into that rebuild before he’d even had a chance to integrate the paltry 3 new players? That’s even worse leadership right there.

Ipswich
Aston villa
Fulham
Arsenal
Saudi Sportswashing Machine
Palace
Brighton (2nd half)
Leicester (2nd half)

The rest when we were second best Ill give you we had more injuries ie Liverpool, Bournemouth but you can argue chelsea we had our defenders back.

We havent played well at all the majority of the season bar I'd say City, Villa, United, Everton, West Ham and Southampton but we certainly had help with some of those games, ie red cards and late goals which didn't reflect the true closeness of the games. In the city game they battered us first 10 mins and second half could have scored, admittedly we played well but had they taken their chances it would have been an entirely different game.
I don’t think we were second best in all of those (even though we lost/drew). We were second best to Palace and probably Fulham. The rest are arguable. Before the fatigue and injuries our numbers were really good, we have struggled with two games a week but I expect that as our squad is too small (and in my defence here I said that at the end of the transfer window)

I am still Ange in but share a lot of the concerns that the 'out' people have....

I find myself thinking about Spurs all the time now and this came to mind today.... During the summer Ange was a pundit for the Euros after just 1 season at a top flight club and I just wondered if that fuelled his ego... In doing so it might have made him arrogant and more entrenched in the 'that's the way we play mate' attitude...

It might have been better had he been at the training ground most of the summer just thinking about Spurs ....

Anyway, it was just a thought....

COYS

And 7 years of painful rebuilding later we’ve gone from one extreme to another, with most of our first XI here less than 2 seasons plus a new manager who works with entirely different coaching staff at every club he moves to; in stark contrast to Pochettino who still has Perez, Jimenez and D’Agostino with him in USA.

With Davies and Son now in the final year of their contracts, we might have nobody left from those halcyon times remaining in the squad by the start of next season.

I don't think we have ever rebuilt, we've sort of replaced, we've bought other players, we've filled positions, but for me that's not the same as a rebuild.
Much like when Poch came in we until this season we had a rag tag bunch of players collected under various managers and the latest one was left to get the best tune out of them that he could.

A football team is always Triggers Broom.

Not particularly but a lot of the reason we are where we are is injuries and fatigue.
Every team has injuries and we are playing the same amount of games as any other English team in Europe. Why have we spent half a season with most of our defence out injured two seasons in a row under Postecoglu? You need to manage a season and manage a game within a season at this level and IMO so far he's shown himself completely incapable of doing that....

Seems we do look better with fully fit players

I don't really think we do. We lost to Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Arsenal, Brighton and Palace for example with all the deficiencies that are on show during this current injury crisis. The second half against Brighton was pathetic for example with pretty much a full strength team. The Saudi Sportswashing Machine winning goal was just school-boy stuff, ridiculously open higb line playing away against a decent team , just got the equaliser and they just basically punt a ball through and run onto it. It's under 7s stuff honestly.

Yep
But they were games we win if our attack had done their job too

Those teams tend to have bigger squads with more quality than we do. They will also probably suffer injuries as the season goes on.

Squad is too small? You can only register 25 players for the PL. For Europa League the squad size is again 25 but we are also required to have 4 registered "club trained" players (who were on the books for 3 years between 15 and 21) within the registered squad. And 8 "locally trained" (i.e. on the books of an English club between ages of 15 and 21 for 3 years) players must be in the squad in that context, how is the squad too small?
1 Vicario
2 Forster (HG/LT)
3 Austin (HG/CT)
4 Whiteman (HG/CT)
5 Romero
6 VDV
7 Dragusin
8 Davies (LT)
9 Porro
10 Spence (HG/LT)
11 Udogie
12 Reguilon
13 Bentancur
14 Bissouma
15 Sarr
16 Gray (HG/LT)
17 Bergvall
18 Maddison (HG/LT)
19 Kulu
20 Johnson (HG/LT)
21 Odobert
22 Son
23 Werner
24 Solanke (HG/LT)
25 Richarlison

You can see that without registering youth players, or Austin and Whiteman we'd be struggling with quotas for Europe in particular. The squad is plenty big enough, you really couldn't have it any bigger. Fans always want more players but then if Moore and Lankshear f*** off to other clubs because they can't get game time that's Levy's fault too....

What's done is done. No-one will ever take what he achieved with us away from him, but we could spend a lifetime or two debating what might have been, I don't think anyone will change their minds now.

Amen to that.

What wouldn’t I give to have N’Kodou back.

Yep
But they were games we win if our attack had done their job too

And if my auntie had b ollocks she’d be my uncle.

Every team in the league could say that about every game.

True
But not many people will look at the facts that show a team concedes less with certain players and then say they don’t because it doesnt suit their argument
The facts are there to be seen
