2018/19 Season - Expectations/Predictions

Lets do this again?........better late than never:)

Will the lack of signings hurt? Is the stadium situation an issue?

We're a strong group, as proven in recent years, a lot depends how the Toby, Rose, Dembele trio intergrate in the coming months. Wanyama and Winks need to get fit and if we can dodge serious injuries will have enough to give it a good push BUT that is unlikely to be any better than last seasons outcome.

If so, hopefully Poch stands by us and can keep his fire/drive for the job even if it feels like groundhog day.

My prediction....

Long story short, we'll probably stay at the mid-70s mark in terms of points, which should *juuuuust* about draw us over the line. United had an extraordinary amount of luck last season, and were saved by De Gea far more than any other team in the league (in terms of reliance on goalkeepers making saves). They'll regress, and probably fall out of the top four.

Chelsea will climb back in - they have a fantastic squad that they've invested heavily in, and a good manager to top it off. Might have a late season fall-off, though, given the demands Sarri's system places on mental and physical acuity.

West Ham will crash and burn.

Just my guesses. :p

A season of surprises in the Chinese year of the pig:

1 - Man U - moaninho leaves in a huff, Man U makes bid to make Poch highest paid manager
2 - Emirates Marketing Project - pep retires claiming boredom and claims he wants to try building a team like spurs
3 - Liverpool - klopp has a breakdown as salah seeks new pastures, unsatisfied as losing as an immigrant
4 - Spurs - no trophies again and the new stadium is blamed; this site goes into meltdown as huge bids come in for kane, eriksen and alli. sissoko stays.
5 - Bournemouth - several US moguls circling to buy over the club (with debt)
6 - Fulham - Sessegnon becomes most expensive midfielder in the world

18 - Stoke City - because i dislike them
19 - West Ham- because i dislike them
20 - Saudi Sportswashing Machine - because i dislike them

City win league, based on their reserves playing poorly against a top 6 side away and winning.

We will struggle for a while due to world cup hangovers and uncertainty about new stadium.

I won't be going to Wembley unless we get into a final, as I said to my son last season "l fudging hate coming here".

There will be a lot of moaning.

Will the stars align for Spurs?

Probably not, but I’d be happy with a top 4 finish and a trophy.

1. Emirates Marketing Project
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Spurs
5. Man Utd
6. Everton

10. Arse

20. West Ham.

Arsenal seventh surely, three EL play-offs just to get in the group.

This is going to be a very tough year:
  • despite not losing key players, still a risk we do
  • stadium delays - critical systems overlooked?
  • injuries at start of season - wanyama, sissoko, loris, alli
  • players not stepping up/earning faith of poch - sissoko, gazzaniga, aurier... to match other teams strengthening
  • no proper rest for key players - kane, eriksen, alli, son
  • loris drink driving
