Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

What does ‘first team’ mean? There is no way our total wages are more than 2 x our first team squad.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

That looks WAY out to me. Wages and salaries in our last set of accounts were at: £251.1m. Our wage and salary number for the last reported financial year was higher than Aston Villa’s entire turnover (£217.7m). Villa’s wage and salary number for that same period was an unsustainable £194.2m...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I would VERY surprised if that was the case. Aston Villa’s turnover cannot sustain a wage bill as high as ours, the only way they could do so is by operating a transfer surplus every year (which I’m pretty sure they aren’t doing). Any club who aren’t guaranteed to be in the CL every year...

Because our opponents have learnt the most effective ways to counter our system. I agree with you that it is the opposite of what we would expect and hope to see (Pochettino’s Chelsea is an example of that).

Was that Maeson King? He has recently converted from being a left winger or midfield player and really looks to have found his position at full back. Based on how quickly he has gone up the curve in that position I think he has a decent chance of making it in the game.

I doubt either Villa or Spurs will be able to sign Nico Williams (I'm assuming 'Bill' = 'Villa' here?)

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Players want to play for the teams that pay them the highest wages. Typically that is teams in the Champions League, hence why the quote 'I want to play Champions League football is used'. However give a player a chance of playing for (e.g.) Ajax and (e.g.) West Ham and every player will...

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

But surely even the monkeys would never appoint and keep Hitchen as head of recruitment?

I hope so. Time will tell.

    Oliver Skipp

I thought their goal came about because of some really poor play from us on the other side of the pitch, two missed tackles with both players failing to take the player and the yellow card that would’ve stopped the dangerous attack.

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

Levy could’ve diluted his stake without Lewis doing so. Levy has become extremely rich through his investment in Tottenham. Lewis has turned himself from an extremely rich person to an incredibly rich one, it is a shame that the most important thing for both of them is how much personal...

That’s a very long deal for a young player.

The problem there is that it is nowhere near £200m profit on the net book value. Probably £60m of profit there after the write downs (and I doubt we’d get fees as high as you’re suggesting for most of those players anyway)

Absolutely no chance of a summer anything like that IMO. We won’t spend anywhere near £300m.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool FC ***

I'm not talking about hitting a long ball up to Richy to hold up, I'm talking about hitting a ball over the top for Son/Johnson to get after. Liverpool were massively overcommitting to their press, leaving only two back and having those two players in our half of the pitch. A ball over the top...
