    The Falklands

Always interested why there is the fuss over the Falklands but not (to name but a few) Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Pitcairn, New Caledonia, Guam and American Samoa (don't even start on the imperialism of Hawaii), Ceuta and Melilla (and there are many more). Perhaps they don't have the fossil fuel...

    The Falklands

All those lands had an indigenous population on British arrival and still do. HK was a legal deal that expired, never owned outright. Falklands didn’t at any point.

    The Falklands

Not really. Beyond geographical. There was never a permanent Argentinian presence there and no GHod promised them it in a mate fuelled prophecy/fever dream in the Atacama desert 3000 years ago. They wanted it for resources (fossil fuels, fisheries) rather than any sense of national identity...

If you say so. His face immediately it went in suggested to me it was meant for Haaland at the back post but you watch more than me.

As long as he keeps crossing the ball as he did in the England game

Just going to say this If you watch Bellingham's 2nd goal it a) comes from a header from Kane at the back post which is saved by the keeper but then recycled by England and then b) 4 players are marking Kane and 1 other England player leaving Bellingham with a one-on-one.

Didn't we hear this in every other competition as well? never in the right place, always dropping too deep, now it is his lack of pace. Perhaps if we had wingers who could cross, perhaps if Saka didn't do the inevitable cut back inside and launch a fairly lame shot at the near post, perhaps...

    Mauricio Pochettino

totally ridiculous for 7 year olds but I would say that having coached school teams for the last 15 years there is a massive drop off in terms of game awareness now (I appreciate that this is a sample size limited to the kids who have passed through the school). Kids seem to watch highlights...

    American politics

That is all fair enough but there will be a lot of hagiographic praise for all these people, focusing on their 'humanity' and ignoring the harm they did. I am not joyful that any of them are dead (if McConnel is dead remains to be seen), people die daily and it has little emotional impact on...

    American politics

They all inflicted, or attempted to inflict, misery on people dressed up in bigoted religious fervour. The two Americans both have blood of their hands through the over-turning of Roe vs Wade and hawkish policies. Widdecombe voted every time against LGBTQ+ progress. This was about their choices...

Without wishing ill of anyone the world is better off without Graham, McConnell and Widdecombe. A lot less hate in the world.

Sick sick world what is wrong with people

Starmer took more grief over some free glasses than Farage has had over £5 million pounds.

No, I know but it was a response to Luton saying it would take courage not to, I was just highlighting that there were courageous people out there. Kane isn't American or political but he also would have been aware of the optics and to me anyone who happily plays golf or engages with trump is...

    American politics

Plenty of sports people have said no to have anything to do with trump. Lots of Champions from NBA, NFL, Olympics University winners have not gone to the white house.

So as long as we don't put him on the same side of the pitch as Spence we should be OK, right?

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I know stats can say anything but on xG, XGA, xDEF, VAR overrules etc, the figures suggest we should have been 10th to 13th over the last 2 seasons so the remaining drop in form is down to poor organisation and poor management. Pushing for top 6 with a decent manager and significant spend/squad...
