    25/26 Injury and illness thread

Data is the most important consideration first. Did we see spikes in injuries earlier than would normally be expected over Ange's 2 seasons than before or after. Was the recovery time longer etc etc. From there we add the context. It may be that the data concludes that there were no greater...

    25/26 Injury and illness thread

We are never going to rule out injuries especially at this time in the season after the criminally busy festive season where games come in thick and fast. It's made worse because of the long term injuries we had from the start of the season. @tommysvr I would be genuinely interested, in...

Good on Palhinha. Love the guy. So unfairly carded during that game.

I think Bergvall is clearly talented but is still very raw and not yet ready for a regular starting place yet. Probably the same for several youngsters. I do really rate Archie Gray though, but this is his break out season as a regular starter in midfield for us (I mostly remember him as CB last...

Thomas Frank - Former Head Coach

No arguments that our final ball is poor and when we get into positions to shoot we take an extra pass, I saw that plenty of times in the Sunderland game. I am not sure if it is a confidence issue but we are a team with lots of young players and players settling in from other leagues. We need...

Thomas Frank - Former Head Coach

I don’t know the reasons why the first half was as poor as it was. Some of that has to be on Frank and I can’t explain what his thinking is. But it’s not been uncommon for Spurs teams to play well for only one half. We saw it under Ange too. It might be something to do with conserving energy, I...

    Xavi Simons

Frank wanted Tel to sign permanently so he clearly must have been in his plans! But based on what the manager sees in training he will pick his best starting 11 and Tel has not been in that. That does not mean the player is not being coached in the back ground or he is not working hard to...

    Xavi Simons

Frank tried him as a number 10 too and he struggled there as well. We have seen a different player since Frank rested him and then brought him back. Tel has played on the left and centrally before and although has had decent moments has not effected a game on a consistent basis. But what we...

    Xavi Simons

That's unfair on Frank. I think Xavi is one of Frank's few successes so far. The player clearly struggled with the physicality initially as players from other leagues often do. To Frank's credit he rested him for a few games to take the pressure off and probably worked with him behind the...

    Xavi Simons

He tries to move the ball quickly where it’s possible otherwise he’s also happy to take his man on. Hopefully the fan base will be patient. Likewise with Tel, Odobert and Gray. Lots of responsibility on their young shoulders. Also with Solanke back hopefully we will see less of Richi up front on...

He has to start turning us around now. Fewer games now we are out of the domestic cups. 1 week until the next game. More time to work at the training ground.

The better Teams defend the centre very well. It's not that we don't have patterns of play in the middle it's just our final ball is not good enough to exploit any weaknesses. You can see it when we get into a position centrally to shoot we struggle to get that shot off or to play that killer...

He was very good for the goal. After that he went back into his shell again sadly. I hope with Solanke back he has more competition. There is a player in there.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

I don't disagree except that it is difficult to achieve patterns of play imho if we can't execute simple passes. As I said before, a system manager like Ange couldn't do it because of the same problem. We need confidence and calm heads. But the front 3 of Tel, Odobert and Xavi behind Solanke or...

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

I think that's a little unfair. We did create chances after the goal. They then managed the game brilliantly ( going down at every opportunity to slow things down) and a poor ref broke our momentum. As did removing Tel for Scarlett and Porro for Spence.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

I agree but we still give the ball away far too much. Spence was absolutely rubbish coming on carried on from the last game.. Muani needs to do more of what he did for the goal. He impacted game for 5 mins then disappeared into himself again. I thought Xavi was really good as was Odobert. Tel...

Not like you at all to take such a one eyed view. It’s fair to say there has been a lot of hysteria and points scoring in the Frank out camp too.

FFS if we weren’t in a relegation fight last season then we aren’t now. We are on 27 points atm. 4 wins and a draw from 40 points with 17 games to go. Look things are not great but relegation -not having it.
