Spence is cruising through this. He's not at full commitment and intensity today. Most of the guys are. Loving Biss's work. Him and Gallagher are driving things quite well.

That pressing from Spence on Walker who just let the ball go out was pathetic. You wouldn't ever see that from Porro. He really needs to work on his application.

Yeah, started well and slipping back into a less than 100% mode. We probably won't see another phase of good Spurs until 2nd half.

Do we think they know that Xavi is playing with a fragile left foot?

I've never known a collection of players that cross so badly. I would only trust 2 or 3 of them to beat the first man on most crosses. Spence, as an example, needs to stay back in training and spend hours and hours on both feet crossing. Even his stronger one.

I actually looks like it is VDV at LB and Spence up in the wider space. Good start to the game

Would I be surprised to see this Vic Porro Romero Danso VDV Gallagher Bissouma Odobert Xavi Spence Solanke I think most people expect this though Vic Romero Danso VDV Porro Gallagher Bissouma Spence Odobert Solanke Xavi When you look closely, one could be with the ball and the other without...

    Ben Davies

Yeah, not a bad idea. The summer will be massively on Ben's mind anyway. Wales still have that playoff first though before they know whether they're off to the US for the WC. He won't be anything but a spectator for that. Love the idea of giving Ben a testimonial to get him match fitness for...

    Andy Robertson

One of my best mates was a Walsall fan. I knew about Jimmy way before the Spurs tenure. My mate never stopped banging on about him.

So if I go along with this story, I can't believe we haven't got a solid plan in place. Lunin maybe?

wow - that one had disappeared from my memory banks.

I think it depends how you look at it. They're mostly all squad fillers and there was always that bad taste left because we didn't buy higher quality. When I look through that list I see Friedel, Naybet, Gallas, Parker and Davids that were 1st team regulars for a short period of our history...

    Andy Robertson

I went to Donetsk in 2012 for the Euro's. What tended to happen with the older Parker was that he came out the blocks at the start of the season and was all action. In the second half of the season he was way more reserved and couldn't do much apart from doing his famous pirouettes in the centre...

There is also a world where Spurs are going to be accused of buying quantity over quality again. I dream of a January window where we only buy one player and their name is Andersen, Wharton or Rogers.

    25/26 Injury and illness thread

How can this be true? They said we have 7 out of our 9 midfielders injured. We have Biss, Sarr, Gallagher, Gray and perhaps Palhinha fit tomorrow. Xavi is recovering but playing. I guess their 7 are Madds, Kulu, Bents. Palhinha, Bergval, Simons, Kudus. If they've included Kudus whey don't...

    Mathys Tel

I assume you're talking about the left wide forward role? That's the only one where there is a case for Tel because he's more likely to score. Odobert is probably more likely to assist though. I do need to watch more of them though.

    Andy Robertson

I think one Robbo factor is that his stats may have reduced year on year and there are no recent major injuries of note that would be the root cause. Therefore the root cause can only be age. He has put in a massive shift in his career.
