    Archie Gray

I think he needs more time to feel out playing DM/CM, but overall he did feel a bit too safe. Did make some good tackles and blocks though, but I felt our whole midfield was so lackluster.

    Wilson Odobert

I like that he's direct. He takes defenders out of position and that's something we've been sorely lacking. Otherwise, teams just set up their lines of defenders in front of their goal which we never seem to break down.

    Lucas Bergvall

I thought he was excellent, and there's definitely a case he could be MOTM. This is what we need in a midfield player: ability to pass, carry, defend, anticipate, join attacks, fight for aerial duels... He's like a proper box-to-box midfielder but with more guile. The way he beat not one, but...

    Djed Spence

Was borderline MOTM for me again yesterday. Odobert getting a brace obviously has a huge impact on the outcome of the match so maybe he deserves it more, but it's so rare to see a defender win the ball so often. Not even going to ground or anything; it's just a standing tackle or nick and he...

    Guglielmo Vicario

I think Ange is of the mentality that other teams should adjust to us, not the other way around. That only works if you're really good, which we're not (judging by results and match outcomes, and honestly, being a pain to watch at times).

    Guglielmo Vicario

That's one of the best ways to beat a press: send it over, accurately, to a player in space. I do think Ange puts a lot of emphasis on keeping the ball on the ground but I remember Bentancur (I think) made a looping pass out of our box or thereabouts to try and relieve pressure. Too many times...

    Guglielmo Vicario

I think Vicario played a few long balls towards the end of the match. I know there was the one dicey moment where he barely got the ball out to the right after being pressed, but yeah, Ange does seem more set on playing the same way despite how the opposition plays. I don't think the way he sets...

    Rodrigo Bentancur

I thought he was pretty awful yesterday, but I think he's one of the first players that need to be replaced. He and Bissouma just don't control matches consistently and is a large part of why our midfield is so poor. They can't pass well enough, they don't turn (I think they can, but they choose...

    Lucas Bergvall

If we have another repeat performance of this season next season, I expect many of our good players will be looking for the exit.

    Guglielmo Vicario

I'm thinking that having a little more genuine competition will help to push him further. Anyway, I'm glad to see him performing well

    Mathys Tel

Right, this all makes sense. At the end of the day, I'm pretty delighted with this deal since I'm thinking the main way we as a club acquire top talent is by developing high-potential players ourselves since we can't just do a Chelsea or City. The financial power gap has been closing, but we're...

Two things: 1) Doesn't anyone here care that he did a U-turn? From what I've read on here, it doesn't seem to be the case at all. My own personal opinion is that I was slightly displeased that he rejected us at first, although it's not like I could feel hard done by or anything... we're a bit of...

    Djed Spence

It would be criminal to drop Djed for any reason but fatigue/injury. This might be region locked but it's a decent highlight video. I definitely thought Djed was one of the standouts deserving of MotM. He just made it look so easy. Smart, efficient football.

    Yves Bissouma

There's a lot of things I could say that would be disappointing in that situation lol... serious relegation fears, unironically.
  15. papaspur

    Yves Bissouma

It's awful watching an attack fizzle out after one of our players drives the ball up the field, then lays it off to Bissouma, and then Bissouma passes it 3 feet sideways to Sarr. Sarr then gives it back to Bissouma. Hot potato football has got to stop.
  16. papaspur

    Yves Bissouma

Bissouma lost the ball that then led to their second goal. I don't think Bissouma played that great yesterday. It didn't seem like he wanted the ball, not that Sarr was helping him. Only Bergvall seemed to want to receive the ball from our backline and try to turn with it. Bissouma and Sarr were...

    Yang Min-Hyeok

ESPN is really not that bad, but I use an adblocker so I don't see the true trashiness. They're not tabloid journalism and the paid content can be decent (it's bundled with my disney/hulu sub).

    Mea culpa. I can't read.

    Yang Min-Hyeok

https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/43001113/tottenham-hotspur-new-signing-yang-min-hyeok-joins-early Just more confirmation of those reports of Yang joining up with the squad early. Apparently canNOT play before January, @Lemonade Money (fixed my post after Jordinho spotted my error).

    Brennan Johnson

Maybe these stats are a result of Johnson having to figure out how to play with a new striker, on top of our midfield being so leaky in some matches. Ultimately, the only stat I care about is the score so it appears to me that the team collectively isn't taking all their matches seriously. Ange...
