    Bundesliga Bonestroker Thread

Am I misunderstanding you? If you're saying he wouldn't have a rebuild at Bayern, that implies you think Liverpool need a rebuild. Klopp seems to have done a good job there (which is why his leaving is so surprising), so Alonso could build on that. Unless there is an efflux of players (the Saudi...

Circus ManUnitus - Nobody's At The Wheel

Manchester United baulk at £20m fee for Saudi Sportswashing Machine director Dan Ashworth It's odd that a club would be put off by such a small fee if they think he is the man for the job. If he's any good he could save them hundreds of millions in dud transfers.

https://ecfil.uefa.com/2023 Looking at some of the other numbers we have 8th highest total revenue, 3rd highest gate revenue, 3rd highest revenue per fan, 9th highest wages (but lowest wage/revenue ratio), and 10th highest total attendance.

    ENIC

I'd guess it would be hard for Arsenal to get a large new sponsorship to replace Emirates. The stadium is too associated with the name, which probably gives Emirates an advantage in renewal negotiations. The real draw is putting the name on a new stadium, with the associated publicity on...

It's almost 20 years since they poached Arnesen. Chelsea could use someone like him to sort out transfers more than they need some to get naming rights for a new stadium they don't have.

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Seems the clear out this summer might be more extensive. Van Dijk, Salah and TAA all will have one year left on their contract. Klopp's announcement looks like causing them trouble. They don't want to unsettle the clubs of managers they want (e.g. Alonso), but without the manager being decided...

    FA Cup 23/24

He was asked if it felt different going to the ground today. He answered that he'd known about his decision for some time, so no. At least the Wolves-West Brom fans have saved us half an hour of the Klopp love-in.

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Yes I can see Alonso being conflicted. It is surely a job he would want at some time, but he'd be torn by the thought of bailing on Leverkusen when he is building something there. There is also the risk of following a legend. Better to let Gerrard have it and pick up the pieces in a year or two.

Jamie Carragher: He's considers Bob Paisley a vacuum? Even if he was an Everton supporter at the time, you think he'd know about Liverpool's most successful manager and the legendary bootroom.

He's done a pretty good job compared to City. Only five points per season compared to 15 or more for anyone else. . And half the gap was last season.

Any petitions yet? I''d also expect demands that the Prime Minister make a statement. Joking aside, any thoughts why he has made the announcement now. The club knew in November so they can be planning ahead with the announcement, which coming now seems more likely to derail their season and...

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Kippity-Klopp, he's off. Very surprising. I thought Klopp reach his overemotional peak a few years ago and that was when risk of burnout was highest. He seems to have calmed a bit (just a bit, mind you) and they've made some good buys recently.
