Still the point I was trying to make was there were cheaper alternatives available to paying 25 M for Wyanyama. This has gotten way out of hand.

Wow. Making up a quote when I've said nothing even close to that. Not cool, man. I'm not even gonna bother replying to this.

The point about the warmth I get, but not CL.

Why would playing in the CL be important to him at this point? He's played there for over ten years. He's even won it.

You're saying he would chose Olympiakos ahead of us? No way.

Fair point, although there's not a lot of competition atm.

Isn't it the job of someone like Mitchell to find less expensive players with high potential who suit our style and needs? What has he been doing all summer when we end up bidding 20 M for Wyanyama?

Cambiasso was available on a free transfer. The problem is we have no academy graduates who is suited to play in this position. Is it good for Masons developenent to play out of position?

UEFA seems to disagree with some of you... ;) http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2016/clubs/club=1652/squad/index.html

You misread my post. I agree with this.

And as for Cambiasso, he wouldn't be just a bench filler. He could play cup games, and would be a great player to sub on when we needed to protect a lead.

Sure we have a lot of good young cm's, but they're all offensively oriented. The talent is unquestionable, but the balance is all wrong. Look how much better arsenal was after coquelin started playing. He's a very limited player, but he does all the dirty work well.

What about this game, then? Look at Mason's positioning on the first two goals. The guy isn't a dm. He's nowhere near. I made the mistake last season of thinking he was a bad player. He isn't he just isn't a dm.

But we need some depth. The dm position is very vunerable to injuries, because it involves a lot of last ditch tackling. I agree paying 25M for wyanyama is ridiculous, but surely someone like Cambiasso on a free would help us out. Dier could also learn a lot from him.

Mason played about 15 minutes against Chelsea, and don't forgt that we conceded three goals in a home game... In the arsenal game they scored early and decided to sit back for some reason. This allowed mason and bentaleb do flourish, as they were not tested defensively.

Has he ever done this in the past?

Do you think Poch will be our manager next season if we finish 7th or worse?

Yes, it was probably an attitude problem. The point is however that people are saying the players we sold didn't contribute anything last season, and that we didn't lose anything by selling them.

I agree that he has done well, but he's yet to perform in games where we come under a lot of preassure. Still, him performing in that role only means we needed to add one dm instead of two imo.

    Sorry...
