    Put this very well mate. I think Carroll and Mason both provide adequate cover, with Mason having an added season to adapt to what Poch expects from his players.

    I think they are both of roughly the same level, but I personally think Carroll has a better eye for a first time pass, whereas Mason can dwindle on the ball. Labelling Carroll a weakling is well and good, but Mason isn't much stronger than him.

    Seems to me that Carroll will be made a spacegoat for rocky performances. If Dembele stayed on then Carroll would not have had to cover his position. Personally I think he offers more than Mason, which was the other option today.
